FPS
« on: June 04, 2012, 01:42:28 AM »
Hello,

What is the level of FPS, which is acceptable by yourself ?
I mean with a detailled scenery, and, in case, after having disabled effects and AI traffic.

Thanks,

Xavier

Hi Xavier,
I think you're asking what is the lowest tolerable framerate to fly through?  For me, I think 10 fps is the lowest.  Lower than that and the motion studders too much.   :o

On the other side, I think anything over 30 fps is a waste, as long as it's a smooth 30 fps.

Xavier,
I'm in agreement with Jeff on the FPS, both upper andlower for my system.  Now if I could just find the cause of the blurry ground textures I have after running for a few min. that will clear up sometimes and not at others I would be satisfied.  Not happy but satisfied.

10 - 30 for my, minimum 15 for helicopters, but i agree there aren´t two FSX that run similar

Hi Xavier, I agree with 15 for helicopters. This is an aceptable value for helos.
Some helos are very sensitive like the Nemeth AS350 with alternative flightdynamics. These ones only like very small control inputs. When fps at 15 it`s O.K., but when fps are  below 12-10... it`s no fun anymore

Hi all,

Many thanks for your replies.
15 FPS is the level I got with Ketchikan sceneries, with very dense complexity.

Best,

Xavier
