PAKT may not be updated further

Hi all,

For those of you who want to go back to the original PFJ PAKT just to see the difference in frame rates etc. or for those scenery developers who are using the ORBX PAKT SP1 product but also need to develop something in the original PFJ PAKT environment, here is a short, consolidated set of notes that Doug has asked me to post, on how to do it for temporary (or could be permanent) use:

To temporarily switch back to the original PFJ PAKT without the ORBX PAKT SP1 Addon airport product being active in the FSX Scenery Library do the following:

- Make sure FTX Central is set to North America

- Start FSX

-  Uncheck the FTXAA_PAKT folder in the FSX Scenery Library

- Close FSX

- Browse to FSX\ORBX\Scripts

- Change the extensions of orbx_cpl_PAKT to .off from .xml and scenerylib_US_PAKT to .off from .cfg

- Browse to FSX\Scenery\World\scenery to turn to disable the special Ketchikan elevation adjustment files:

ADE_FTX_PFJ_PAKT_17AK_Ketchikan_TEMSCO_heli_1m_ALT.BGL change extension to .off
ADE_FTX_PFJ_PAKT_AK1H_Ketchikan_N_Tongass_Hwy_heli_8m_ALT.BGL  change extension to .off
ADE_FTX_PFJ_PAKT_elevation_adjustment.BGL   change extension to .off

-Then copy ADE_FTX_PFJ_PAKT_elevation_adjustment.BGL from the FSX\ORBX\Scripts\Custom.na\OFF folder into into the FSX\Scenery\World\scenery folder.

These temporary changes will display the original version of PFJ PAKT when you restart FSX.

In order to change back just undo what was done above.

  ! I'm also back in the default PFJ mode at Ketchikan. No more super slow framerates for me.

I´m also back to default PFJ PAKT. Besides the better framerates, I now see again that default TEMSCO Helibase is better than the PAKT SP1 TEMSCO...

Judging by everyone's comments here, it seems that I made the right decision to pass on the orbx PAKT. PFJ PAKT is excellent on framerates and I afford to install all the scenery goodies from RTMM in the area.

The place feels like HOME already!!
I also love all those helipads, especially the ones on boats.. It's my playground!
