American/Canadian Airspace
« on: September 10, 2011, 01:01:40 AM »
I have a question about the legality of flying from the US to Canada. Let's say I wanted to recreate a realistic flight from Ketchikan Intl to Alastair Lake in Canada. Would the realistic (and legal) way to fly be to takeoff from PAKT, land at the nearest Canadian Port of Entry to be checked by Customs (Prince Rupert), and then on to Alastair? I apologize if this has been asked and answered before, couldn't find anything on the forums.

In the real world that would be the correct method of making the trip and of course clearing customs coming back into U.S. Airspace.  Oh yes, and because we have turned into a bunch of lilly livered pussified paranoic folks Homeland security insist you have a passport to travel to our northern neighbors and return.

thanks Spud. All my real world flight hours are along the Southern border, was wondering if the rules with Canada were any different than flying into Mexico. Apparently not.
