Mild, isn't it?
« on: July 23, 2011, 06:13:36 PM »
Here in Toronto, we've been subjected to several weeks of continuous heat and humidity, with temperatures most days being over 30°C (86°F) with only brief bouts of rainshowers here and there.  On Thursday, we shattered several local records with the temperature reaching 37.9°C (100.2°F) and the humidex hitting 50°C (122°F)!  Even at night, we're averaging about 25°C (77°F) with only a light breeze, if any, to stir things up.  I'm having to limit my computer time because it's running very hot.  It's already senile and now I have to worry about it getting heat stroke before it gets replaced! To think we were complaining about a long and overly extended winter! I'm actually a bit of a lizard myself but this is getting ridiculous.  The long range forecast is calling for thundershowers for most of the next week but with only about a 30% chance each day and temperatures are to continue high.

How's summer in your parts of the world?

I believe the weather has switched over from Toronto to Germany/Bavaria and vice versa: Here around 13-18 °C cloudy & rainy the last 2 weeks; not summerly more autumnally :-\

Pensacola (mother-in-law of Naval Aviation) has moderated, this week highs are forecast to be in high 80,s which is actually a bit lower than normal.
North and east of us they are still sweltering.  My sister, a full time RVer is in Shepardsville, KY at the moment and last week emailed me saying that the RV park closed the swimming pool one day because it was too hot!

Yes, but you have GOOD BEER to keep you cool ... it is "hot" here near Savannah, and our beer is "not so hot!"

Down East here in Nose Kosher (Nova Scotia), Canada, we just got whomped with a whole hockey sock full of snow, yesterday!  Today, I had to haul my spavined carcass out there and shovel like a hyperactive miner for a couple of pea-pickin' hours.

So winter's officially here.  Bah!   >:(

Sitting on the back porch, light wind, 78 degrees, sunshine.  Got a good sunburn on my face just sitting out fishing yesterday morning.  It's "tuff" down here in the deep south. (Hilton Head, SC)

Just past the middle of summer a week ago. Days have been hot with lots of thunder storms and showers. Today was almost like a cloud burst.

Welcome aboard! Just above freezing here with barely enough snow to register.

Aussie or Kiwi?

Cool! It's interesting how many simmers from south of the equator love to fly in the snow while some of us northerners like the hotter climes.  If I ever get myself up and running properly, I intend to spend a lot of time flying with Aerosoft's African Airstrip Adventures and PIS's PNG Bush Flying packages.  If I can ever get out of the PNW, that is.

Speaking of Aerosoft, they have a nice, tiddly package for Tahiti X, which I find just perfect for the mid-February blahs, since it's such a pretty, relaxing area.

I go tooling around the islands for a few hours and inevitably, "I'm feeling MUCH better, now!".  8)
