Hello Dieter,
Well what you're seeing there is my solution to a problem I was having when I designed the scenery. I wanted to use the old rustic hangar object because Doug, requested that "Misty's Place" be an old hangar converted into a bar and grill.
So I liked the object I had selected but if you walk around that particular building, you will see that there aren't any doors modeled on it. On any side of it. Nothing.
So my solution was to place a cabin inside like that and position it so there was an entry point now visible. Some other scenery challenges to be overcome are hidden in my designs like that.
Most of my scenery has a smoking chimney effect at it. Well there are only two defaul cabin objects that have a smoking chimney. But I want to add smoke to just about any rooftop structure. Go look at Nina's Landing. There are probably too many smoking chimneys there.
So to make smoke magically appear where it normally isn't at, I take the turquoise green cabin object with smoke, position my viewpoint above the roof object I want to add smoke too, pull that cabin up to the roof and shrink it in scale until it fits inside the vent, stack, chimney, whatever.
I make sure it's not visible where it's placed in the top of the previously non-smoking chimney and... Voilà!! Smoke efx is now present.
So there's a few of my secrets for getting around things that I come across.
