Amphibious helicopters
« on: July 18, 2011, 03:00:02 AM »
Hi all,
  I've searched Flightsim.com and avsim for a helo that lands on water.  I used to have a small model that worked well but alas, during a reinstall of FSX I lost it.  Any ideas on a location or filename?

Thanks

Hey Rob,  I have a "Bell 205A-1 Evergreen Helicopters v1 Floats" in my hangar.  You can search for it, or we can figure out how to get a copy of mine to you (if you're interested in it).

edit - I googled it and came up with a simviation link to the zip.  It's made for fs2004 but works in fsx.
The zipfile is called --> B205EHv1.zip

(extracted from readme file):

Hi Rob,
you could also give the enstrom 280fx a try. This helo is a new freeware fsx-Modell created by eaglerotorcraftsimulations and offers a float-version. Theses guys are very active on hovercontrol.com.

The helo can be downloaded on several sites. just look:
http://www.eaglerotorcraftsimulations.com/fsx_280fx.php

I didn`t give it a try so far, but may be this is interesting for you.

Also check the download sites on hovercontrol.com. There are some nice helos.

Hey Rob,
     I've been flying the Dynali HS2 amphibie for a couple of days now.  I really like it, but the sound was kind of annoying.  I switched it to the Robinson R-22 sounds.  Now it's better.  Put this line at the top of your sound.cfg file to change the sound to the R-22.

[FLTSIM]
alias=P:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Rotorcraft\Robinson_R22\sound
product_code=FSIM

The product_code=FSIM line was already there, just leave it in and add the "alias=" line like the example above, changing the "P:\" to the drive you're using.
