No Scenery listed in FSX Scenery Library

Hi to all,

I started FSX today after flying normally yesterday.  When I went to Scenery Library to change sceneries there was no scenery listed.  I flew a Misty Flying Club Tour and all scenery areas and airports were present.  On completion of that flight I chose another state, Alaska, and went to Anchorage.  All the scenery in the flight was normal.  However there continues to be no scenery listed in the FSX scenery library.  All scenery files are Scenery.cfg, Addon Scenery, etc. are in the Sim in proper folders. 

Has any one had this happen or have any ideas on how to fix it.

Never seen it, never had it.. but it seems more like a Halloween prank.. It's not showing as there but has to be like a ghost.. "The ghost of scenery entries past?   If all is there but it's not showing, has to be a minor thing like a bad character in the first couple of entries.

Manually viewing the scenery.cfg file (notepad) - do you see any text/entries?

These should be the top 3 entries in your scenery.cfg and they must be in this format:


[General]
Title=FS9 World Scenery
Description=FS9 Scenery Data
Clean_on_Exit=TRUE

[Area.001]
Title=Default Terrain
Texture_ID=1
Local=Scenery\World
Layer=1
Active=TRUE
Required=TRUE

[Area.002]
Title=Default Scenery
Local=Scenery\BASE
Layer=2
Active=TRUE
Required=TRUE

If all is correct perhaps the scenery.cfg has a hidden file attribute stopping it from being displayed?
   To check.. Navigate to the file, right click on it > properties> untick hidden. Apply> ok
Perhaps it has a corrupt character somewhere else in the file. Has to be a minor thing.

So check that Bill.. but if no work, could try to give you a call this afternoon.

Thanks for your help.  It was just what I needed.  Looked at my current scenery.cfg file and the first three enteries were nothing like those you sent me.  See below:

[General]
Title=FS9 World Scenery
Description=FS9 Scenery Data

If fact the whole scenery.cfg file was completely different than the one you edited.  I have no idea how this change in the scenery.cfg came about.   I saved a copy of my original scenery.cfg that you worked on.  Replaced the incorrect scenery.cfg with it and sceneries loaded into the Sim.  Unfortunately I did not save the corrected scenery.cfg.  It would be a helpful  if you could take a look at the scenery.cfg again as it is the same file you made corrections to before.

An orbx sync issue.. scenery.cfg fixed and all good again. Happy Flying Bill.
