SPBs for RTMM
« on: June 19, 2021, 10:26:52 AM »
SPBs for RTMM Project

Starting another new (and needed) project. We are going to be adding the missing SPBs that are in our area. This will help us with our flight plans to all the scenery locations we are placing out in the FS2020 scenery.  The first one is complete, Loring SPB.  The RTMM Team can test it from the beta scenery page.

Blown away Doug. Those RTMM objects really come to a new robust life in MSFS 2020.

These are a lot of fun. I still have to figure out the DATA folder to put the actual airport (water runway) there, but the scenery goes in easily. I'm having a good time with the evening/night lighting. Amazing how great it looks in FS2020.  Here's what Bell Island Hot Springs SPB looks like so far:

Big breakthrough for me this morning, I finally made an airport. All of the documentation and videos are wrong as of step 2!  The new 013 SDK is different on that step. I even got Bell Island SPB (KBE) to have a "gate" start ... parking near the scenery. The water runways are SOOO far from the pier, so this will make it easier for people to start there.  So I'll start coming down the list of the SPBs and adding them. The latest is on the beta page for the team for SPBs for RTMM.

Ok Kasaan SPB KXA is "out for beta".  I have one problem that maybe needs a fix, then I will have it ready for the RTMM team on the beta site. Each of these is difficult in its own peculiar way. If you look at Kasaan now in FS2020, you have an indented square of water for a bay.  Look then at Google earth, and you won't see any comparison at all. I was able to terraform the entire bay area and give it the same appearance as what you see on Google Earth, it is very close now.

I had to put in not only the SPB, but the little village across the bay. It all lights up at night, and FS2020 has put in a bunch of night lighting for the town (but of course they left out the town).  This one also has its own airport (water) and when you choose Kasaan, you can choose "GA Ramp" and it will start you near the dock rather than way out in the bay.  Here's a peek at the SPB.
