Cigar Box Charter in MSFS Help needed

Trying to get MFC and Cigar Box up and running using MSFS and this is my first attempt to do this. I need some assistance please.

So how to get Cigar Box to connect to MSFS is my first question.


I'm trying to fly a charter flight in MSFS using a default C208. When going into Cigar Box I get this result.

Cigar Box says "Good Connection" in red along bottom of application window

Pilot ID and password area of Cigar Box is showing green and checked.
FS Controls are showing in red. (This is the issue here)

I'll go ahead and explain what I'm doing just to make sure the other steps are not causing the disconnect.

In "Flight Options" I select "CHARTER" tick box.

Under Aircraft Options

I choose the aircraft, (N208MM - C208 - CESSNA 208)
I choose "Load"
Cigar Box confirms "Aircraft Loaded"

Under PIREP Data

Then put in Flight Number (I use my MFC pilot ID)
I enter ICAO of departure, destination.
I put in DIRECT for flight route.

Under PIREP Controls

I select "Start Flight"

Error message pop-up: "Connect to FS"
 
What am I doing wrong? I have FSUIPC installed (Free). I don't know if I need to configure that to connect somehow. I just run it and it is showing in the sim. (I think)

FSUIPC 7 is installed?

FSUIPC 7.exe is running yes. If I click on that, it actually starts MSFS.

Maybe you use an older version of FSUIPC 7? CigarBox did not work with older versions.

Brad,
You might try launching Cigar Box AFTER the sim is up and running.  While I think the free version is all you need, the paid version allows you to fine tune the controls and allocate controls to specific airplanes.....and it also allows you to make sure it is controlling the sim

If still no joy, you might delete and reinstall it.  This is the first time I have heard of that it hasn't worked.

Well it's still showing the FS controls as red and inactive. I do get an "Aircraft Not on Ground" pop-up. I have verified that FSUIPC is active and running with MSFS running.

So Cigar Box is not keeping my connection at the moment. I'm stumped.

Aircraft Not on Ground means that Cigar Box can not see FSUIPC7.

Make sure FSUIPC7 is loaded, then the SIM... (or vice versa)...     (Try to do it separate without the FSUIPC bat file. (run FSUIPC exe as admin.    Then start Cigar Box. (Run it as admin too)..

Aircraft not on ground also shows up when the sim is paused. At least in P3D.

FYI: RE: FSUIPC7 and Cigar Box Connection:

Must run FSUIPC 7.xxx as well as Cigar Box as Admin. This allows for stable/good connection between the sim and Cigar Box. (MSFS runs at Admin level so it would appear that all directly connected utilities must also run at the admin level to be able to consistently connect and maintain the connection with the Sim).

The fix for me was making sure the C++ libraries are updated to the latest versions. Then FSUIPC makes the connection to MSFS.

Just need some mission flights to make things happen in Misty land.

There are about five or six tours that work fine..try the Juneau milk run. If we are able to make the RTMM scenery work in msfs they will all work!  There are about 100-200 free and paid scenery add Ins available in the right area , they just aren’t RTMM scenery. There a lot of sea plane options, one designer has done all the cabins on Admiralty Island and sea bases. Now then, I have seen better scenery, but it works just fine for now.
