Stalled my G44
« on: December 07, 2020, 06:48:39 AM »
Just made a flight from Petersburg Seaplane Base to Wrangell Seaplane base. On final I was a bit too high, so I slipped. But with all flaps down (and that's a lot on the G44) I went into a stall and could not recover. Touchdown rate was -3000 and something according to CigarBox.   :D

Will repeat the flight.

OUCH, your poor Widgeon G44! Not only is your prop broken, your entire nose, engine firewall and cockpit has been pushed backwards "pile drive" right through to your tail rudder and there is nothing left in between! Even the old A2A <Shift 7>overhaul (if it was an A2A G44) wouldn't work to fix that plane!! Your fuselage resembles a squished accordion right now!) So your prized G44 is a complete write off!! Your insurance would cover it but you're dead so you can't collect. Sorry about that Karl. lol.

It was the Flysimware G44.

There was a G44 with LOWI as home base. It belonged to Red Bull. Unfortunately they sunk it at Lago di Garda in 2005. It is in a depth of 22 meters. No one was hurt in that accident.
