MSFS2020 X-Cub in RTMM colors
« on: November 02, 2020, 08:55:57 PM »
I can't really call it a livery, but it's my take on the MM paint scheme for MSFS2020

I have since fixed a few issues I noticed in these screen shots. The words Misty Moorings have been moved and the wing edges have been cleaned up. I did a few other things as well

Great work but as you mention in your notes
If other liveries installed Simulator won’t like it!
How true
I have many XClub Crafters liveries working so will have to think about this one or learn editing!

All my liveries work just fine.  I’m not sure why people are having issues.  I have four x-Cubs installed and at least two of every bush plane.

I wasn’t aware of this liveries problem initially
I had a livery installed into a Cessna 172 OK but installing into the 172 G1000 version crashed the sim-that alerted me
RTMM livery as sole additional livery is OK in Cessna  172 G1000
The same sort of thing seems to be happening to me with the XCubCrafters though in this case the  other liveries are OK but not the RTMM one
It might be OK if I uninstall all the added XClub Crafters liveries and stick to RTMM only
Will try and see
xxd09
PS tried it as sole addition livery but crashed sim
Fault with my set up?

Today’s patch to MSFS should fix whatever issues you were having

No joy for me unfortunately with this particular RTMM livery
After installing-when I select the livery-sim closes
I note the new msfs2020 patch has knocked out some AddOns -airports etc
The sceneries ,airstrips etc just do not appear in sim
Alway the same with an update
No doubt the developers will update their own items -again!

The Bush League Legend mod for X-Crafters Cub v1.7.9 makes it quite a beast
In RTMM livery it would be hard to beat!
Slightly off piste but relevant?
MSFS 2020,s graphics of the countryside continue to impress me compared with P3Dv 5hf2 and X-Plane 11
Some problems in deepest Alaska where rivers rise above the landscape like giant aqueducts !
Obviously the emphasis of the developers( we Bush flyers are a niche crew) is not on deep Bush flying but anomalies aside it still makes it a terrific flying experience
Constant MSF2020 updates break the AddOns from Developers-may be a disincentive if not tackled or is it policy?
Onwards and upwards

This livery also CTD as soon as it is selected.. Will have to go through the aircraft.cfg to see if anything is obvious as to why it would ctd every time.. Any ideas grizzly?

I don’t have any issues with it so I am. It sure what it could be. Please make sure your data is turned on and you have the latest version of MSFS.

Thanks Brian. yes and Yes.   Still checking..

Ok.. just found it!  The paths in the model references are setup for your user ID referencing model paths contained in  c:\users/smith./../../.   but of course these references won't work for the rest of us unless they have set up their windows user account setup as "Smith". lol.   So for anyone else the model paths are a NULL value/model not found - hence the immediate CTD.

So in the livery: have to change the model.cfg file >>  [models] references:

go to the file >>  \SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_XCub-RTMM\MODEL.RTMM\ model.cfg

the [models]  section:

remove:

[models]
exterior=C:\Users\Smith\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore\asobo-aircraft-xcub\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_XCub\model/XCub.xml
interior=C:\Users\Smith\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Official\OneStore\asobo-aircraft-xcub\SimObjects\Airplanes\Asobo_XCub\model/XCub_interior.xml

Replace with:

[models]
exterior=../../Asobo_XCub/model/XCub.xml
interior=../../Asobo_XCub/model/XCub_interior.xml

Save the file.

So changed the model path reference to a generic but still correct path (which can be used for any setup/any user name) then saved the file, restarted 2020 - and now the livery works fine- no CTD.
Going for a fly!! Look nice!! Thanks Brian. All good to go now!

zip of the complete new model.cfg attached.
