Yes, they are coming!

I just built my new flightsim PC and I‘m waiting for the new cards impatiently for the new system.

Until they are avaible I have built my backup GTX1080 into the new system. Not perfect, but I hope it will do it‘s job only for a few weeks.....

It might also be worh to wait for the new GPU generation from AMD that will come to us a bit later, maybe October.

Yes, it is. Even compared to a 2080TI.

So, if you ever wanted to reach the 8K resolution level, the only card right now that can achieve that is the nVidia Titan and you'll only get 10 FPS!!!.

If you're able to afford it, then get yourself that brand new GTX 3090 with 24 GB VRAM! You might reach 15-20 FPS at 8K on Ultra.

I'll be on the sidelines for awhile since I'm stuck with a PC and a non functioning GTX Titan Black edition that seems to be kaput. (Error 43)

No luck with rollback drivers, brand new drivers, MB chipset, etc.

I'm like a duck in the desert. Hopelessly lost.

I‘m looking for the best solution running the sim in VR.
VR means a lot stress for the GPU.....

There are rumors a 3080 with 20GB VRAM comes out later....a lot people think that the 3 models introduced yesterday will not be the only ones.

@Brad
Sad news with your GPU. I hope you find a solution and by back in the virtual skies soon!

Sorry to hear that, Brad. Chck your power supply and look at updating/reinstalling the firmware. I had errors pointing me to a broken 1080TI back at times when I used 2 of them in a SLI installation. Finaly it turned out to be a broken power supply (that still worked with another card that did use less power).

It's also important to look at the power supply when going for a 3090.

I wonder how much of a fps increase a 3090 would give me, if core 1 is exhausted as is the case with my P3D installation. I will not go for 8K. A3090 will for sure help with 8x SSAA sampling.

Also I'm a bit sorry for my 2080TI that is now sort of almost rendered useless given there is a 3070 that is faster and costs 1 3rd of the list price I paid for the 2080TI one year ago. (Ha ha, a GPU is "rendered" useless, how funny is that?). Well, there is still 3 more GB of VRAM in the 2080TI.

So, I'm not in a hurry to upgrade, both sims are running fine.

Anyway, now is a good time to get cheap used cards.

I did similar Karl.. a year and a half ago did a new PS, to be able to bump the old 970 over to run as a secondary GPU and bought a new GTX2070-Super to be the primary GPU for the heavier stuff like the sim..
(run 3 monitors on each GPU).

Where as could have got the 2080TI (but it was too much $$$ here) or maybe should have waited for the 3000'series to arrive for more speed and more vram!! but hindsight is 20/20. All in the name of progress!!.

Yes. Honestly, that doesn't bother me. I can wait a bit. I will for sure get a 3090. But it need not be now.

I am a early adopter concerning Canon cameras, I always have been. But with graphics cards I can wait for... hmmm.... 2 or 3 days.  ;D No, I'm joking. I don't mind getting my 3090 in two or three months from now.

In my new flightsim PC my old GTX1080 is a real bottleneck.......but I‘ll also think it‘ll take two or three months since enough 3090‘s are avaiable on the market.
