Let's keep the thread on topic, please.  Thanks.  ;)

Which flight sim do you use for RTMM?  Vote at top of thread.   ::)

Answering this... by moderators.
The lack of interest in this survey is frightening!  Meanwhile the forum has almost 1500 registered members - up to now 26 users have voted.
Subtracting  the (approximately) 10 Staff members, which probably voted, just 16 "normal" users took part.
Again, very frightening.
And this is not because the forum readers didn't find the poll. They just don't read the forum  regularily or not even at all.

Already in May 2015 I pointed out the grievance between registered members and active members:
https://forum.mistymoorings.com/index.php?topic=2631.msg21753#msg21753
"Some personal considerations"

This discrepancy still exists today and has become even greater. The number of "card oaks" (members who only exist on paper - who only register and lack the courtesy to introduce themselves in the forum) is probably now over 1000.

And the names of the really active users who participate in the forum are unfortunately hardly higher than 25 to 30. You always reads postings from same members. Now and then, but very rarely, a new name appears.
The language barrier should no longer be a reason these days. There is very acceptable free translation software.
For me, it's a certain disinterest, because most of the registered members do not or hardly read the forum. Why should they still be listed in the member list? They are no members! Many of them are just "download hunters". It is very easy to register and then they get a lot of excellent software for free without any interest in RTMM and the forum.

An outsider or a statistician  would easily get the idea while reading these numbers: In this forum an enormous effort is done to create free flight simming software on a very high level for very few interested people.

Well, again my question, why not deleting these names  from the member list who never wrote a word in the RTMM-forum. It wouldn't make a difference for RTMM if there are "just" 300 subscribed users instead of 1500 of which most are not active.
Small but nice should be the motto!

Additionally one shouldn' t place too much emphasis on a significant number of inveterate simmers joining RTMM. The number of pilots being interested in flying business airliners such as Boeing, Airbus or others is still emminently high.

Well, it is as it is, we'll continue to enjoy the great sceneries that RTMM has given us in the many years of existence. This is only due to the high commitment of the staff who deserves our recognition.

With this in mind, may RTMM continue to open its doors for a long time to come!

Hello RTMM,
What sim are we all flying around in?  I want to ask the RTMM community to come to their census, and share what flavor of sim we all use.

Indicate which sim you use in the poll above.  ::)

Thanks.

It's a beautiful day to vote.  ;)

Currently, I am using Xplane 11 for VFR in France, P3D V5 for RTMM.
But frankly, I have access to a certain alpha, I don't see myself relaunching P3D after August, especially since the milviz beaver is not compatible with the last version.

So I don't know what to vote for :)
I need a little more perspective.

I'm really surprised at the FSX FSX-SE. I had no idea that many people were still using that.  This is a great survey Jeff, very informative. We should do this more often.

It sounds like you should vote P3Dv5, as that is your RTMM sim.   ;)

Doug, can we get this thread pinned to the top, please?

Not surprised at all here.. some have older PC/hardware, older OS, some users have very good FSX custom setups.. so they just stay with what they have built over time. And the costs to upgrade to a newer sim and required new PC or components can be a lot of $$$ and a lot of work.. so if it's working for them and they are content they simply stay with FSX. No fuss, no muss, no work or changes required. While many in other various flight communities or circles continually update their sims the the latest.. and also update their systems to be able to run them as might be required. Again no wrong answer here.- some stick with the FSX while others move onto the latest sim versions. To each their own.

I notice there are 3 votes for the MSFS2020.  I wonder . . . do they have RTMM installed in MSFS2020? ???  Because that is the question of this poll.  How is it working for them?  Maybe one of them could share their experience so far.  Post some pics of Misty's Place in MSFS2020.   ;)

"""do they have RTMM installed in MSFS2020?"""

I don't think that these 3 users have RTMM sceneries installed in FS2020. That would be more than a surprise.
But let's wait and see if anyone answers.
Many greetings

About to load MSFS 2020
Was a FSX flier
Now XPlane and P3Dv5 hf2
Miss Milviz for P3Dv5 but it has been promised -all other previous Addons seem to work
P3Dv5 is an improvement for me from v4.5
Avid RTMM user -just noted the one off install of RTMM libraries as completed my new P3Dv5 hf2 install!
Very interested to know if RTMM “stuff” will work in MSFS 2020
Really appreciate the great work you guys do-you make Bush flying the real deal for me
Thanks again

PS Heading out from Victory Valley in depth of Winter-snowing-in a Misty Moorings Beaver -full avionics-2xGTN(750+650) and WX Radar to Tezwa RiverRanch-and arriving safely-does it for me
Temporarily unavailable re Milviz and WX Radar!
