Global Base Causing "Blocks" with V5 ... FIX!
« on: May 08, 2020, 10:49:03 AM »
I was encountering orange and black "blocks" in V5 (coming out of Laguardia in pic). Rod put me onto the thread that solved the problem. There is a problem with the default "lclookup.bgl" in P3D V5/Scenery/Base.  If you replace that bgl with the one that is in the attached zip folder, the problem will go away.  Note that if you run a verify for Global Base, it can put the wrong one back into the folder.

Thanks, Rod
Doug

The colors will depend on the terrain. The key here is the squares,  usually black, or if near water,  blue.

They remind me of "night" textures.  Lights on the road, dark water, etc.  :-\

Yep,  cityscape in countryside,  meadow in a lake. Screw stuff or sure.  But now...All gone!  The fix is working and I'm one step closer to [maybe] accepting V5. :-)

Thx!
I have tiles in water with a slightly different colour then the surrounding water. Will see if it disappears now.

These problems are often reported nowadays with v5.
This is what Nick Cooper/Orbx forum recommends this to do first:

One thing to do use only ORBX central to import sceneries
If you do by copy /past from v4 to v5 one thing can damage your terrain is VECTOR
