Axis behaves different in P3D V5 vs. V4
« on: April 30, 2020, 03:17:45 PM »
Hello, I have a slider on my throttle that I can operate with one of my fingers. I use this to look left and right by assigning the slider to the axis called "View left/right axis (pan)". This works nicely, especially in turns.

As soon as I let go of the slider it centers itself, in V4. It does not center in V5. In V5 I have to use a seperate key to center the view, but it also centers the tilt, not only the pan, and that I don't want.

Any ideas maybe?

Yep.. go the controller and you'll see either an advance mouse action or a standard. Tick on off.. ON will center and zoom with your mouse wheel. Standard won't do those actions.

Thank you Norm. I think you are talking about "Mouse - control view direction (on/off)" in "Key Assignments".

I mean an axis function, I attached a screenshot to show.

That is almost like a calibration item.. or an auto-centering setting.

Sorry Karl, we weren't talking about the same thing. I was maning a mouse auto-centering. the setting that  affects the mouse action and it's auto-centering and zoom feature.
(Pic below os how to Turn OFF or ON that advance mouse control. (PIC)

I'll keep looking for an auto-centering view feature that you refer to.

Norm, thank you so much, your screenshot shows the necessary item to check: "Reset Camera on Joystick release". Now it works.

Hello Norm,
Yes thank you for pointing to this item....this gave me the idea this function ticked could be responsible for a strange behaviour when using the mouse in VR. Clicking right mouse button in VR randomly leads to self centering the cursor dot. Unticking the above function seems to disable this behaviour.
