ORBX new HD Buildings
« on: June 29, 2019, 08:41:52 PM »
So ORBX has released their HD Buildings. Curious how this will change things that we've used in the past with autogen buildings placed in our scenery locations. For example, at Nina's Landing, I used autogen buildings to construct that location. I'm not getting the product yet because I shy away from purchasing anything anymore when it first comes out.

Looks different for sure but not that bad. I might have a go in the future during one of their half off sales.

Thanks Jeff

I installed it and made the setup accordingly for their specs.  I didn't like it and removed it.  Perhaps when I get the super computer and run a 4K monitor.  Fortunately it only cost $20 U.S.

How come Dex? Was it a hit to the frame rates that was too costly?

No frame hit, it appears to be made for folks running 4K monitors running 4096 X 4096.

I see. Yeah so far the reports have been mixed. I think I'll hold off on this one until more information is known and how others experience it.

Seem to be some reports of clashes occurring between these two products with Airport Buildings

I DO NOT  have a 4K monitor...yet!  but, I do have HD buildings installed. I run my sim at 4096 textures and I am happy with them. Maybe a tad bit longer to load textures in dense autogen areas.

I DO NOT notice a FPS hit!

I also have Aerosoft Anchorage and it helps in that area too.  I think that I will keep it.
