Not your typical trike.
« on: April 06, 2011, 10:46:04 PM »
Not your typical trike.  The engine is 750 horsepower, goes 0 to 160 in seconds, and can land on a 20 foot strip of land.  Way too much fun.  I can get anywhere, . . . very fast.

(edit - Top speed now is 206 mph/185 knots, and I've been landing on helipads!  Stall speed is 30 mph.)

Ah man, I gotta here that baby roar... any chance you can to a take-off video.

BTW, is ear protection needed?

Good morning,
It sounds the same as a default one, but goes really fast.  I'll try to make a video and post it, but I seem to have trouble uploading to youtube.  Most of the time it doesn't work for me, and I have to retry several times.  I'll let you know if I get one posted.
I've tweaked the trike to go about 180 mph, and can also stop very fast.   I can climb straight up at 135 mph!  If I come in for a landing with the parking brake on, it will stop in about 15 feet.  So I can land on those little tiny islands, no problem.  As long as I touch down on land.  It is very fun to fly.  I never thought of changing the sound files.  Hmm, what sounds should I choose?

I've settled on a new sound.  It is now sounding like a "Pitts S-2S Skip Stewart Prometheus".  I tried the P51 Racer, the Twin Otter, and the G21 Grumman Goose.  They didn't sound "beefy" enough.  This S-2S does though.  Now the trike sounds like it has a big engine.  (Ear protection IS now required)

I would like to catch a flight session.  I've never done MP before.  (20+ years of solo.)

(Wow, I was able to make a video, convert it, and upload to YouTube without a problem.)

So without further ado, let the show begin.

Welcome to Ketchikan, Alaska . . . Fasten your safety belts, place your tray tables in their upright positions, stow your carry-on luggage in the overhead compartment, and prepare for takeoff.  We will be arriving at Misty's Place in seven minutes.  Thank you for flying with insane air.

(Turn up your volume to hear the engine better!!!  It sounds sooo cool.)

Should you need them, barf bags are located in the pocket in front of you.  Have a nice day.

Very nice video technics Jeff.

What can I say, that Trike is sounding beefy and I love that. Never have seen a faster take-off and roatation in my life, almost jetpack like...amazing.

Three point belts have a new meaning with those tricks on that Trike I can tell you that.

...a very sweet ending at Misty´s Place and what sounds like perfect time for dinner.

Well done and thanks for taking the time.   :)

Jeff I found 4 of your videos and put them all up in the gallery.  Great demo of what you can do with the boats on some of those.

Yesterday I participated in a MP flight which took us through Kildala Pass.  Today I returned to these helepads with my trike, and landed on one.  Try it.  Very challenging.
