Trying to expand my horizons into MP, NoGo
« on: June 07, 2019, 03:00:16 PM »
This morning I got some scenery loaded which is by RTMM and its neat having something to head to and see when you get there.

After lunch I tried to get M P going and I seem to have cashed and burned.  I followed the team speak instructions and got Team Speak 3 downloaded.  I didn't see anywhere I down load TS 2.  But I couldn't connect to 64.22.78.67:8777.  I'm sure I did something wrong.

Next I tried FSHost and had FSX running in window mode and FSHost, Nope...  I added the  /s freeflight switch on the short cut, but got the same message.

I run Norton 360 virus checker... probably something with it's firewall I need to look into???

It's sure been an interesting experience relearning everything... even flying stuff.

Any pushed in the right direction about things I should look at?

Mark

Don't think that anyone is really flying MP right now but all the info you wrote about is OLD, incorrect and out of date.

FSCloud - is the multi-client. http://fscloud.net/  Compatible with FSX, FSX-Steam, P3D all versions and X-plane too.  (Simconnect needs to be installed).

FSCloud is compatible with FSX: Steam Edition (FSX: SE). You might need to install the legacy Simconnect first which is coming with the Steam edition, just run the Windows Installer from your steam folder, for me:

E:\Programme\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces\FSX-XPACK

Start your sim then install FSCloud. Done - you'll be on the FSCloud multiclient. Don't have to do anything special from then on except start your sim normally then start FSCloud. Done. (At it has it own world wide map display all users that are on the FSCloud network.

COMMS: Discord - https://discordapp.com/  (A software version install (works best) or a browser version. Register and your into the network. Now there is a separate Discord server for the Misty Flying Club VA- Add it to your discord and it always be present. Just select the MFC Icon on the left side and click to go there.
There is voice channels as well as text channels.. drag and drop file capability for photos and files etc. Person to person or to a group. The link to the Discord MFC server: LINK: https://discord.gg/SEe7F3f
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Others, for multiplayer client use JoinFS - (https://pmem.uk/joinfs/) It is a simple Cross-platform multiplayer across Prepar3D, X-Plane, FSX and FSX:Steam. There is many servers in JoinFS: IE: DigitalThemepark server is free and open for anyone to use.  (Some even have their own JoinFS Multi-client server - IE: BBQ STEVE has his own!.

For COMMS others also use Teamspeak - Digital theme park server (Free to use for comms). Some guys even have their own channel like BBQ Steve!!!

That info is up to date!
-------------

Now the best chance to fly MP in RTMM scenery is with pilots that fly RTMM at the Misty Flying Club VA if you want to take a peeks if you want to try to hook up with them. If you want to fly solo to fly come interesting routes and explore the scenery pieces and scenic landscapes you can do that by flying MFC tours and other flight plans.. and creating your own logbook, # of flights, hours etc as you fly!.

(PS: I'll send you a brief manual for Discord and FSCloud via email (too big for me to attach here).
