Misty Repaints - Skis Dirty
« on: May 28, 2019, 09:29:03 AM »
Hello

I've installed the 'old' style repaints for the AS Beaver and they are all working fine with one exception: the Skis Dirty is VERY dirty - in fact the plane is totally black in vehicle select, the cockpit is black except for the compass, gps, radio stack & gauges! In outside view the plane is black also.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this particular repaint isn't working for me?

Thanks
Josh

Some paints are not compatible with the airplane model or version for the P3Dv4x so comes out totally black.. but the Skis Dirty M0003MM does work so you must have an incorrect reference in your aircraft.cfg or a missing texture in the texture.N003MM_Ski folder?

Check your texture name - (texture.N003MM_Ski) matches your aircraft.cfg name

And your Air file name, model name and folders in the aircraft.cfg. (All must match!)

The only 2 differences between your data and mine:
mine is flightsim 4
i don't have 'N003MM' in the 'title' after ...Skis dirty.

I checked the folder and file names and they are correct.

i do have 2 'air' files though:
DHC-2S.air
FSX_DHC-2S.air

I'm guessing the FSX file is redundant as aircraft.cfg points to the DHC-2S.air file.
It makes no difference if I remove it.

I downloaded the zip again to compare files and none seem to be missing.

Ok The header and title is no matter. It is the air file and model folder and panel that make or break it. (And I just noticed that I have the same two air files. (The aircraft.cfg points for this repaint points for air file DHC-2S and the Model folder SKI2 and your texture folder (name) has to match.
Hmmm, assuming that you are P3Dv4.4 or 4.5?

I guess will have to check your actual model files. DHC_Ski2_Ext_0.MDL, 7271 kb  (1/17/2007), and DHC_Ski2_Int_0.MDL is 7038 kb (1/17/2007) as well as the texture files. And you did all the updates for the Beav in P3Dv4?x?  Hmmm Dunno Josh.
