Good to know.

Since yesterday I have problems with my GPUs. Did the last leg of route 12 and then, just after take off on the first leg of tour 13... Bang...! ...crash.

First I believed it was another P3D crash, but giving Assassins Creeds Odyssey a try the same happened. Now I cannot install the 419.67 driver anymore and Device Manager reports a "Code 43" error for the GPUs.

As I have two 1080TI in an SLI configuration I tried each GPU on its own but to no avail.

Actually I have 3 cards, all the same brand, but also the 3rd card is not accapting a Nvidia driver. This leads me to the conclusion that the issue is with Windows rather than with the cards.  I think I have to get rid of the current Nvidia driver and trails in Windows completely.

I now have to investigate how to solve it.

The issue was with the old driver (419.67).

I managed to do a clean removal of all Nvidia software and drivers using a tool from Guru3D.com in Windows save mode. Then I could install the Nvidia driver. But as soon as there was some load on the GPU the PC rebooted. I tested all 3 cards, same reboot. Then I put in my former GTX980... same problem.

This means that the GPUs are not broken. I tested the CPU under load (Prime95) and also the RAM, both with good results. It must be the mainboard or the power supply.

Both mainboard and power supply are new (2 to 3 months old). I will now swap power supplies between the server and the client and see what's happening.

Ok, I'm up and running again. The power supply is faulty. It is a Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1200W 80 Plus Platinum, purchased at Amazon 3 months ago.

I just was chatting with Amazon staff, they immideatly contacted Thermaltake in Germany and within a minute a support person at Thermaltake called me. Cool!

I will get a new one, just have to send back the broken one.

Whoa bonus Karl... Make sense that it was the PS- hence the shut downs when the GPU were under load. Not enough power to keep them running under that load. Great call and you sure have connections!! lol. and congrats you have a new very BIG 1200w PSU coming!!!.
