Tour MFC003 mistake
« on: April 06, 2019, 04:57:03 PM »
Made a mistake on that tour. After making an in between stop on leg9 at Coffman Cove I inadvertandly pressed "Stop flight" and filed the PIREP. I assume I have to wait for the PIREP to be rejected and can then refly the leg?

Well not exactly Karl, Once a tour leg is flown it is completed as far as the tour is concerned and it won't be generated more than one for a pilot. And once filed it will generate the following leg. (Which can't be reversed even if I reject your flight).

Now a couple of options here.
If this was your 1st leg of the tour, I could remove you from that tour which clears your records/flights off that tour, then you could re-join and start over.. but your are too far into Tour 3 to clear you off to start this tour all over (in other words there is no way to "un-do" a tour leg). Once a tour leg is flown/filed it can't be removed or regenerated - BUT there is another option to re-fly the same route as that tour 3, leg 9.

In the tour details doc, you will see that the tour leg 9 route is also flight MFCT00025-6A0.

MFCT00025-6A0 VFR Nichin Cove (AK62) to North Whale (96Z) (Via Coffman Cove (KCC) - 42.1 nm - 3500'

So you can bid/fly flight # MFCT00025-6A0 and cover the same route as that tour 3, leg 9.

Also your bad leg 9 once filed, still generates leg 10 of that tour. So you can jump right to leg 10 if you want but if you want to fly the complete route of tour 3, leg 9, just fly flight MFCT00025-6A0 and you will finish at the correct location for leg 10 of that tour.  (Every tour and every tour leg has a corresponding MFC flight schedcule that can be flown).

A bit messed up in the logic but this is best we can do on short notice!.

Thank you for your explanation.

In Cigar Box I switched on "Search by Flight Number", entered "MFCT00025--6A0" as the flight number and pressed "Get Flight Data". Cigar Box found the schedule and it now looks as everything is ready for me to fly this flight.

Is this the correct procedure?

I also found "View Flight Schedules" in the Pilot Center where I can bid on this flight. But there I am a passenger it seems?

Yes correct procedure..

(But there is two ways to do it actually.

A) As you found: Switch the cigar box setting to Search by flight Number.. And direct input the flight number into the Flight Number box and select Get Flight Data.

OR

B. Uncheck Search by flight Number in the Cigar Box settings and use the bid type system:
As follows:
1) Go to the Pilot Center tab at MFC. (Login done)
2) Scroll down to the "Flight Operations: heading, select View Flight Schedules.
3) Just Select "Find Flights"  And ALL Flights will appear.
4) Scroll down to (IE:)  flight MFCT00025-6A0  (or do a PF3 search for the flight#)
5) You'll see MFCT00025-6A0 (AK62 - 96Z)    >> Select "Add to Bid"
6) Once you add this bid, it will show "Bid added". Go to Cigar Box.
7) After logging into Cigar Box (make sure to Uncheck Search by flight Number). Simply Select "Get Flight Data" and flight MFCT00025-6A0 will load- away you go! Start Flight, Fly and file as usual. DONE.

Note: If you add many bids from the View Flight Schedules listing, each will appear in order. Fly and File and the next bid will be displayed. If you don't want to fly them, the bids have to be removed.

(To remove bids, go to MFC home page - Top Right corner - Select "View my Bids")
All your bids will be displayed. Select Remove Bid *  (Double Click on Remove Bid) to remove the bids for each flight you don't want to be loaded. DONE.

Very easy after you get the hang of it.
