SCENERY.DAT file error
« on: March 26, 2019, 04:56:09 PM »
I have the latest UPDATE for RTMM required  FSXP3D Libraries Part IV_3.21.19  installed.
When I installed the add-on scenery Ocean Falls today, I got the following error when I start up FSX-SE:

SCENERY.DAT file error.  Close Flight Simulator and
delete 'addon scenery\rtmm\object libraries\ez
scenery libraryfsxp3d\scenery\fsxp3d lfwwkbr1'.
Click OK to continue.

I'm guessing that you deleted fsxp3d lfwwkbr1 from your HDD and didn't remove it from the scenery library list in FSXSE. If so, one way to fix it is:

Restore the deleted file from your recycle bin, run FSXSE, remove it from your scenery library list and then delete it again from your HDD.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your response.

I checked my objects library (EZ Scenery Library) and have fsxp3d lfwwkbr1.bgl and fsxp3d lfwwkbr1.txt, so it wasn't removed from my HDD.

Any other ideas?

Check your scenery path in the scenery library. It should look very similar to this:

Addon Scenery\RTMM Required Libraries Part I\EZ Scenery LibraryFSXP3D 6-7-14\EZ Scenery LibraryFSXP3D\scenery

Check that your fore slashes properly separate all of the folders and sub folders.

After several reboots, it appears that the scenery was re-indexed and the error has disappeared.  Not sure why that wasn't happening for me yesterday, because I'm fairly certain that I did a re-boot, which is my "go-to solution" for most any computer problem. :)

Thanks for your time Steve!
