SIRP - Elevation problem
« on: March 25, 2019, 03:26:51 PM »
Hi all,

New to the forum I am a long time user of RTMM scenery. I used SIRP for a long time on FS9 and FSX, and I am using CIRP now on P3D V4.4.

First of all a big Thank you to everyone who is contributing to the addon sceneries on this site. It is a dream to fly them.

I just found that SIRP is still alive and even works in P3D V4. I did the installation by following all instructions but have an elevation problem at all icefields:

What does cause this? Is there a workaraound?

Thx,
Karl

The pic is a great help, thank you for taking the time. I'm not seeing this (using P3D V4.4) ... I'll let some of the other team members comment on it, perhaps they have an idea.

Thx for the quick replies!

All is maxed out, so "Terrain" options are: Max/Ultra/1m/7cm
"Scenery Objects": Extremly Dense/Extremly High/Extremly Dense/Extremly Dense

I made an outside landing nearby and took a look from above.  ;D

Set your Terrain Mesh Resolution to 5m. Then report back to see if that fixes this. The recommendations from ORBX use that setting as it's baseline.

This ORBX Thread has some good information in it.

Thx.

I found what's the case: I have installed a 3rd party mesh for the USA, "OFX USA MEGA MESH 5m". This is changing the terrain in a way that jeopardizes correct function of the SIRP icefields. I deactivated it and everything is fine now.

Anyway, many thanks for the fast attention, it is a pleasure to be here.

I've got one more question: At ARC6 there are just a few items visible, contrary to other SIRP icefields. Is this correct? I have the Part IV library installed, do I need other libraries in addition?

Also, as you can see, there is just one oil barrel visible on the runway borders. Those are missing at all icefields.

Thx,
Karl
