Yes Bay Lodge V2
« on: February 15, 2019, 02:17:53 PM »
... where have all the flowers trees gone?

I wonder if the scenery was changed, I'm now missing the many trees around the lodge (attached screenshots - before and now)

Here is what I am seeing in P3D V3. Wonderful, we solve one puzzle another pops up (Scenery whack-a-mole! :-)

Well, lets see what others are seeing. On my end, I'll make sure that what you are "getting" down from the server is what I'm seeing here. Going to re-upload this one, then download it myself and see if I see a difference.

Update ... OK, I took the YES BAY folder from my P3D V3 (top picture) and put it into the upload for YES BAY V2.0 on the server. Then I downloaded it and replaced what I had in P3D V4 with it ... I'm seeing the same trees, none missing. (Bottom Picture). (So there is a refreshed version up there now, but I believe it is exactly the same). What are others seeing?

PS: I may go after that "misting" on the right ... those are "waterfall objects" around the rocks. We have better objects for that now. The river is "mine" and something I can easily change. I'll go to work on that next while we try to figure this one out.

Here's what I see in FSX (just FSX, no DX10).

Just to complicate matters, this the first upload of V2, I snagged it about three hours after this thread was started:

The New Rig:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 4.6GHz, 32 Gig RAM, RTX 2060 D6 6GB V2 GPU, T16000M FCS Hotas, Logitech 3 stick Throttle Quad.

Well, I downloaded and installed scenery again - and to my surprise - the trees are back.
Comparing the two folders I couldn't see any differences - doesn't matter, main thing is trees are back!
(but still the known smoke problems in P3D v4.4.)

P.S.
Just a hint concerning "Yes Bay lodge.pdf"
Under
1 -Before installation
there is still a note that "All EZ-libraries from various authors ... " are necessary.
That should be deleted.
Many greetings
Dieter

Dieter,
We have no way to decompile and edit the original PDF files so they had to remain intact. In the README_FIRST.txt" it states: "NOTE: A few words on the object libraries. You must dwnload (sic) and install all RTMM object libraries in order to use this scenery package" which should be followed. We can add a note in there about no longer needing the listed libraries.

Steve

EDIT: Norm has figured out a way to edit PDF files and make them "nice."  Great job Norm with a tedious undertaking.

I got it Steve.. no problem... (I did the 1st revised PDF and can make another one.. won't take me too long.

Dieter: Please review the following before I build it into a new PDF document and repack the Yes Bay Lodge zip.

1 - Before installation./ Requirements:
-FSX-Acceleration Pack or Prepar3D (All P3Dversions)
-OrbX Pacific Fjords PFJ .
-Tongass Fjords X libraries, from the excellent payware sceneries Tongass Fjords X by
Holger Sandemann and Bill Womack (not a mandatory objects library, but some
additional sceneries use them)
- RTMM Object Libaries: available at Return to Misty Moorings (LINK)

Norm,
it's ok this way.
- My input was just  meant as an information. It's known from the experience here in the forum that new users sometimes have difficulties putting things in right order when they read about "installing EZ-libraries".

I put up what Norm sent. The new Readme First from Steve is also in there now. Let me know if it is all correct.

(Dieter ... I had the same thing happen on Taku Lodge ... the trees weren't there ... redownloaded and reloaded ... and there they were!)

Mine is looking like this ...

I've removed, redownloaded, and reinstalled the latest.  Still no trees in that ugly brown patch.  :'(

Jeff,
Do you have access to the original YBL? If so, try uninstalling the new version and reinstalling the old and see what happens. I probably have a copy of the old version lying around if you need it.

I did revert to the older version, but it didn't change anything.  The new folder seems to contain the same old files, dated back in 2012.  Also, when I uncheck the YBL scenery in the scenery library, there is still the default/Orbx YBL scenery underneath.   :o
