Shutdown your PC and your router/modem. Then start them up again and give it a try. (Make sure your FSUIPC is installed for your sim and run cigar box as administrator).  The Cigar Box/MFC connections are currently all up and running without a hitch-right now. (8 pilots are currently online in Cigar Box- including one from Belgium).

No joy.  Switched off the modem and ran as administrator.  Uninstalled and re-installed again and still no joy.  Still the same message coming up.

That sure would explain it Simon. Virus scanners/firewall can sure block you and give this result. No expert here but I have been reading on your problem and the string response you mentioned: "Unable to read Data from Transport Connection. Connection Closed". It yields lots of results: "Firewalls can be set to "forcibly" close a socket if it does not meet the criteria of the firewall rule.. "

https://www.codeproject.com/Answers/686460/unable-to-read-data-from-the-transport-connection#answer1

Soon as saw your "AVG"  it makes sense. That virus scanner had apparently created a firewall rule against the cigar box connection whatever reason and closed the connection. Arg.

Did you adjust AVG to allow cigar box connection through its firewall? or what did you do to fix or is Cigar Box connection working again?
