Area.251 Missing
« on: June 06, 2018, 08:39:51 PM »
I just finish installing RTMM Object Libraries I, II, and II, BEWP and Medical and APP Libraries.  I got an error Could not find Aera.251's..... in the fsaddon directory.  I did a search but didn't find the file.

Please advise.

This error is caused by the scenery.cfg (area 251) that is pointing to a scenery folder that the path is not exactly correct or that scenery folder is missing.

Ok.. P3Dv4x as I recall > correct Peter?

In hidden folder:  C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 you will find the P3D cfg files which includes the scenery.cfg file.

Go to your scenery.cfg file > Open the file with notepad.

In notepad > edit > Find > [Area.251]

Look at the 2nd line
Title= What does it say here  (If should be the scenery folder title or name)
Local=  (path)    << This is the path to the scenery folder: That path has to match the scenery folder path and folder name exactly  ie: drive letter, folders/sub folder(s)

For example:
[Area.251]
Title=RTMM Object Libraries
Local=J:\Addons\Addon Scenery\RTMM Object Libraries
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Layer=251

So refer to your HDD for the correct drive and path for the scenery folder and correct the Local= line with the exact Path of that scenery folder.

I am using P3Dv4.2.  The following is a list of the Area.251:

[Area.251]
Title=RTMM Required Object LibrariesFSXP3D Part III_02.25.2017
Local=C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\FSAddons\RTMM Libraries\RTMM Required Object LibrariesFSXP3D Part III_02.25.2017
Layer=251
Active=FALSE
Required=FALSE

I am not sure what to do as I did verify the path.

Thank you for the reply,

PeterW

Additional:  I have fixed the area.251 by copying and pasting the correct address for area.251.  Unfortunately, I now have a problem with area.252.  I tried copying and pasting the correct address but it was not fixed as when I did with area.251.

I then launched P3Dv4.2 and deleted I, II, III and tried adding one at a time.  When I tried adding  I, it came up area.251 error again (could not find it).

Please advise.

Well something is wrong Peter. If the scenery folders are setup on your HDD, you should be able link the sim to via the path and they should setup in your scenery library and be found (until or if you ever change them). Hmmm, sound like you are not adding them correctly or your have a scenery folder eater IE: virus scanner perhaps deleting them for some reason (seriously). The paths and files should be there.. and the sim just needs the correct and complete path to the folders.

After you add/create the scenery folders, then add in your sim.. can you go back and verify if the actual scenery folders (and scenery files) are present on your HDD?

IE: C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\FSAddons\RTMM Libraries\RTMM Required Object LibrariesFSXP3D Part III_02.25.2017  Folder, should have a scenery folder and texture folder. Can you see that on your HDD?

Yes they are.  To make sure I deleted everything and did a fresh download of I, II, III.  I copied the zipped file into the FSAddons folder.  I then extracted I so that they would directly install in the correct folder.  I added it using P3Dv4.2 add addons.  When I went back to the main screen I got the error message that Area.251 was not found.

I don't know what happened as I took my time installing P3Dv4.2 and P3Dv3.4.  I think I will try to install into P3Dv3 to see what happens.  Before I had to re-install my operating everything worked correctly.

I got errors for P3Dv3.4 as follows: Area.244, Area.245, and Area.246 can't be found.  I checked  the the scenery.cfg file in the hidden folder as suggested and the directories matched as shown below.
Maybe I downloaded the wrong addon's so I listed the contents of Part I for your reference to see if that might be the problem.

Here is a listing of what I have in my addons directory:

D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\FSAddon\RTMM Libraries\RTMM Required Object LibrariesFSXP3D Part I_02.25.2017

containing folders: AhZx_LIB Sub LibraryFSXP3D 1-27-15; CeyyX_Sceneries_Libraries_2013_07_15FSXP3D; COL Old RTMM Files Removal Utility v1; EZ Scenery LibraryFSXP3D 6-7-14; RWY12 LibraryFSXP3 6-7-14  for example.

D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\FSAddon\RTMM Libraries\RTMM Required Object LibrariesFSXP3D Part II_02.25.2017

D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\FSAddon\RTMM Libraries\RTMM Required Object LibrariesFSXP3D Part III_02.25.2017

     I'm not convinced that you are installing the correct library folders with the "scenery and texture" folders as their subs.  You must go down until just above the scenery folder and point to that folder.  Not the library "container" folder with the date in the title, go down one more level.  ;)

     You must install all those libraries contained in that first part you listed individually.  And don't point to the folders there that have the dates either.  The AhZX_LIB Sub LibraryFSXP3D 1-27-15 folder, for example, has a sub-folder called AhZxLIB SUB LibraryFSXP3D in it.  That is the folder to point to, as it has the "scenery and texture" folders in it.  There is also an effects folder you should copy the contents to your effects folder.
