Norm,
William Butler, Pilot MFC0105, completed Tour MFC0058 BWEP Southern Alaska SAK (PAVD-PAXK) on 2024-03-06. I enjoyed this Tour but had an interesting time. When I first went to the Tour Center to sign in to Tour 58 I found I was already signed up but no aircraft had been selected (not sure how this happened). I choose to fly a Cessna 185 and had to add it to Cigars at the start of each leg. I found some of the RTMM air fields on this Tour challenging for the 185, particularly Z55. Tried several approaches just above stall speed high with full flaps and low power and low straight in with power on from both directions. With the airfield in a bowl and trees at both ends I never made it in to my satisfaction. So on leg 8 I added the flight replicas super cub and made it in without incident. Not sure why the PIREP did not show the plane used as I added the Cub the same way I did the 185 on all other legs.
I am looking forward to more challenges as we continue into Interior Alaska.
Bill
Not sure about the missing aircraft Bill.. but glad you didn't get a corrupt bid in the system. In event event the system allowed your bids for some reason.
All legs except leg 8 show either the [11:06] FS Aircraft: C185F SKYWAGON SKI or TUNDRA, (Your leg 8 shows FS Aircraft: PA-18_160 Classic FSX so all appears to be is correct in the system.)
Some of the BWEP strips in FS/P3D are tiny and are very challenging to get down and stopped in time! .. (Thanks DOUG for adding these deathly challenging airstrips to the BWEP route!!!)
Some of these are very challenging to get down and stopped but as you did, changing to a more STOL aircraft when you need it... works!!
The completion award for MFC0058 BWEP Southern Alaska SAK (PAVD-PAXK) has been added to your awards listing.. and the next continues northward along the pipeline. Well done Bill.
Norm
PS: And you have started flying the next excursion and you have reached the 800 flights milestone at MFC so the 800 Flights award has also been added to your award list. Nice work.
