Win 10 Update Nightmare
« on: April 20, 2018, 12:30:02 AM »
Win 10 decided to update right in the middle of something I was doing. "Critical security updates cannot be installed until you upgrade to the newest version of Win 10." Fine, but the upgrade wouldn't install 'cause I kept losing my Wi-Fi connection to my ISP. Eventually lost it altogether. If his happens to you, go to Device Manager and delete your Network Adapter, and the software. Re-start. Windows will re-install the driver. I went through 2 days of this. Fixed it though. Maybe this will help somebody else.

...and so I'll stick to Win 7 as long as I have to. Newer is not always better, and why does the wheel have to be constantly reinvented? Oh wait, it means someone makes a whole ton of new money.

My FSX machine is Win7 and always will be. This is the wife's laptop and I know zero about Win10. Plus I discovered that, unlike Win7, with Win10 you have no options concerning Updates other than when to do a restart. You take what they give you, like it or not. I got 'er fixed in spite of them, by golly.
