Object tester: Doubtful result?
« on: June 22, 2017, 11:12:10 AM »
Gentlemen,
On the attached picture one find the image of the objects that I can see in P3D V4. For MM sceneries it seems to me that everything is OK. But on this image I have the feeling that there is something missing. To avoid painfull researches among all objects folders, maybe one of our friendly specialist cant tell me if something is missing, and in this case which files I have to download.

By the way, evrything is working fantastic wit P3D V4.
Cheers

You should go to the object tester location and try to adjust your viewing angle as close to the scenery tester screenshot as closely as possible. Now compare what you see (or don't see) with the screenshot. Underneath the screenshot is a "key" to which library is each object belongs to and by a process of elimination figure out what you are missing. (It's hard to tell what you are missing from the angle that your posted screenshot was taken because it doesn't show the complete row of objects.)

Yoland,
As ualani has said the view angle you have is a wee bit confusing but it appears that your trying to point out that objects 10, 11, and 12 are missing.
If that is the case you will need to download and install three libraries as each object comes from a different source.
Item 10 (Orange Smoke) Library is RTMM Medical Facilities TEMP Library
Item 11 (Construction Crane) Library is Alaska Power Project TEMP library
Item 12 (BWEP Tank) Library is Blue Wave Energy Partners web page

These are additional libraries for the specfic projects that require those objects.  If you do not have these Projects installed the Libraries could still have objects in them that are being used in unrelated scenery to the Projects.
If you have not installed the three additional libraries it is reccomended that you do so.

Spud unknowingly pointed out some wrong information under the scenery tester section. Last January the RTMM Medical Facilities TEMP and the Alaska Power Project TEMP libraries were consolidated into RTMM Medical and APP Libraries FSXP3D and no longer exist as such. Doug should change that information under the scenery tester, and technically, either object #10 or object #11 could be removed from the tester because they now reside in the same library. All of the libraries listed under the Links to the Object Libraries You Will Need section are mandatory installations or you will have problems with proper scenery display sooner or later!

Thank you Gentlemen. Thanks to your explanations, now everything works fine in P3D V4.
The problem was for me that, as it is recommended with P3D V4, I loaded my addon sceneries folders outside the P3D directory. Doing this I partly copied former files from my FSX addons folder (on another drive) and downloaded some other files from the MM website. And that was the origin of my problem.
Anyway, presently  MM addons work beautifully under P3D V4.

Glad you figured it out and in the process we discovered a minor problem on our end.

Thanks for pointing out my fupaw concerning the libraries.  I was going by the write up that is incorrect.  At the present time I have no reference to real world (RTMM) files due to the ransomware that hit me and corrupted both HD's and an external HD.  I'm out of the flight simming world until I get the system to the shop later today and no telling what I'll have left once things get cleaned up.  Of course all FSX files are gone due to me trying to be a techie and fix it myself.
Hope to be back simming sometime soon.

Spud,
As I offered in the past, let me know when you get your system back in working order and I'll show you how to image your system so that you can restore everything back to a working state in hours rather than weeks and weeks. I ought to do a tutorial on this some time.

 8) I use Eausus Todo Backup. It has saved me a couple times. I can restore from a boot disc, and the images on a backup drive. Voila, new C: drive ! All fixed.
