Totem Bight Operations Centeer
« on: October 13, 2016, 06:45:19 PM »
Once again I am totally confused as to how to install a scenery.  I have downloaded it and tried to install.  It shows up in my addon scenery/Mistys Place/Totem Place Operations Center.

It won't show in FSX.  I am sorry to be so slow but I am about to give up on Misty Moorings.

Thanks for any help,

Tom

Do you unzip the folder or just add the zip folder?

Hi Tom,
Does the scenery show up in the scenery library list?

Tom, is your Misty's Place folder where you keep ALL of your RTMM sceneries? Most of us have, under Addon Scenery, an added folder titled RTMM, or Misty Moorings or something similar, where we keep all of our RTMM sceneries under one umbrella. Misty's Place would be one of those, as would Aiken Creek, Totem Bight, etc..Misty's Place, in our case, is just the scenery for Misty's Place itself, unless you named the folder with ALL your RTMM sceneries Misty's Place. That would be confusing.

My tree goes like this:
FSX/Addon Scenery/ Misty Moorings (a folder I created). In that folder are separate folders for all my RTMM sceneries, including Misty's Place and Totem Bight OC. I'm just wondering if you installed TBOC in the wrong place. It needs to go wherever all the rest of your RTMM sceneries reside.

Don't give up, we can help you figure it out.

Jsapair,

Thank you for responding.  My  Folder is E/Microsoft Flight Simulator/addon scenery/Mistys Place/Herring Bay (or whatever file I am installing).

The scenery does show up in the FSX scenery library.  It is listed in FSX Scenery Library near the top, along with other reqd sceneries.  It is listed as Totem Bight Operations center.

When I downloaded the file, I unzipped it, then in FSX Scenery Library searched for it and loaded it.
To the best of my memory, which is not good...grin, that is how I installed it.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Tom

Is there supposed to be a scenery folder in Mistys Place?
My Mistys Place doesn't have one.

Hey Tom. This is what your Addon scenery tree should like like. Let me post a few snips and see if you are even remotely close to this. Here goes.

Just a question in between:
- Did you choose the correct version for your system?
There is one for Orbx PFJ and another one for PFJ includiing Orbx PAKT SP1
Many greetings
Dieter

Hi Steve,

Yes.  Mistys place is there as well as Dean River and Herring Bay Cannery.  The last one I have been trying to install is Totem Bight Operations.

I am installing into plain FSX.

Thanks,

Tom

I am not sure about this, I don't really know what you mean.  I do have all of the ORBX sceneries installed.

Tom,
I realize your being bombarded with suggestions right now but first question have you looked here:

http://www.return.mistymoorings.com/object_libraries_build/

and at that page click on the link that reads Scenery Folders Placement and Object Libraries Priorities
this is a graphic representation of the best way to install RTMM scenery.  Any non-standard install such as you are doing at present makes support extremely problematic.

Yes PFJ is installed.  I have all of the ORBX sceneries from Southern Cal to the latest one in Valdes.

My Scenery object Tester shows all objects installed except #11 & #12.

Remember that while the installation sub-folder is named Misty Moorings there is also a scenery location named Misty Place don't confuse the two.

IE: THibben question about the correct version of Totem Bite refers to the fact that there are two (2) different zip files for Totem Bight Operations Center under the 'T' section of the Scenery downloads.
The first ZIP file is in a row along with "MAP TIC FS and How to install"
If you do not have the ORBX PAKT airport payware installed this is the download you want.

Do NOT download the ZIP file below these as that is for those who have purchased the PAKT payware airport.

Just to avoid confusion my personal set up is:

C:\FSX\Addon Scenery\RTMM\(individual folders for each RTMM location IE" Aiken Creek, Misty's Place, Totem Bight Operations Center ETC.
I changed the "Misty Moorings" folder name to RTMM so it is different than any scenery location name.
