A lot of these cabins are hard to find. Some of them extremely hard to find. You can't always count on chimney smoke to find them, either. You're learning; you gotta get down low and slow and look for a pier or a canoe, a buoy, or some other sign of habitation. There are some that I've never found, but I'd never admit that...oh, wait, I just did. A lot of the enjoyment, to me anyway, is in the search.
