Welcome Xavier and thanks for those excellent ground textures.

You do realise that you have now set the bar higher for us and we who create sceneryettes for MM are going to need to learn how to make blended background textures, don't you?

More to learn! ;) But you show it can be done, so I shan't rest until my hard edged grass strip at my next airfield has soft blended textures. All I can do so far is create landclass polys using ADE. which look like this:

If you feel up to it Xavier, then I think one or two of us here would appreciate some tips how to get such beautiful ground pictures.

Thanks for joining us.

All the best,

Xavier ...

We welcome you to RTTM.  Thank you for coming on board with your talents.  The pictures of Sewall look absolutely beautiful, and I particularly liked the dirt "turn around" for the planes, hadn't seen that before. Thanks to both you and Brad for putting your heads together and coming up with a great new location. Can't wait to fly it.

Welcome aboard ...
Doug

Some Sewall WIP screens

@ One-Eye, many thanks, building photo-real ground textures doesn't need a great knowledge, only time and trainig and an efficient painting software (Photoshop, Paintshop Pro - payware or the Gimp freeware), I use a 7 years old version of Photoshop, the 8 version.

I will try to write a small howto.

Best

Quoted from the Notams page:

"Sewell Lodge is not ready for download under "S" on the Scenery Page. This is our first scenery by Xavier. Note there are some special files you must download to make it wll come together as perfectly as he built it. Enjoy this one, it is outstanding!"

Question: If this is NOT ready, why is there a link to download it? Sorry couldn't resist  ;D

Installed, looks great after I figured out what went wrong with my fumble finger attempt to install the files.  I had everything but the lodge itself.  Even had the two lights on the lodge and the smoking chimney.  Just no building.
Well what happened was, I always combine scenery library files into one major library like EZ-1 library has done.  So I copied Xavier's scenery and texture folder into my EZ-1 folders.  Should work, right, well as I said, no lodge building.  So I redid the extraction and added Xavier's scenery library to the sim as per instructions and there in all its glory was the lodge.
Well, says I, lets go delete the files I copied into the EZ-1 library.  That is when I discovered that once again I was the victim of the dreaded "cursor bounce".  When copying files to folders it seems that Windows likes to jump to a folder directly below or above the one you have highlighted and misplace the files there.  The .bgl files wound up in the texture folder.  Moved them back to the scenery folder deleted the other scenery director from the FSX library and all is fine now.
