Here is the fix below is the fx_wake_coastguard.fx effect file used by the RTMM AI Shipping. The lines to delete are bolded. You can edit the fx file with notepad.  Insure you don't save it as a txt file.

As you see, I have been having a vertical wake problem in Prepar3d V2.5, and after much fiddling about I have reduced the problem to one ship (don't ask me what I did, I tried all sorts on manipulation, but I believe that part of the problem was old ships in my system) The ship concerned is in the screenshot, can anyone identify it please so that I  can remove it? TeeCee,
that looks like the one called Mega Yacht.
Removing it will, of course, make it not show in the scenery and it is used in several RTMM scenery files.
Have you tried the solution shown in reply #1 by pringlere?  Delete the 6 files noted.  I'm not a P3D user and do not have a wake problem so not sure if it works or not.

Yes, made the changes proposed in the post.. No go.. I remember a while ago there was a fix for the older boats here on the forum, I can't find it now but I am fairly sure I have older boats in the sim and if I can find that old fix I will be able to fix things.Teecee.

I get the feeling that we have dealt with this problem before, when P3D first came out.  I believe that the 2.5 patch has overwritten the effect files.  We just need to fix it again.  The TempK line rings a bell with me.  It's like Deja Vu, again.  The posted solution is good, but I believe there may be more than one wake that needs fixing.  We'll get it worked out eventually!
