ORBX Objects Library
« on: December 27, 2014, 03:50:18 PM »
I am trying to confirm that I have the ORBX Object Libtary properly installed.  I believe it is installed in my FSX/Orbx/FTX_AU/FTXAA_ORBXLIBS folder.  The only Orbx scenery I have installed is the North America which is required fo RTMM.

Is there a reason that you think that the latest ORBX object library didn't install properly? The ORBX installers are pretty fool proof. Do you have all of the required ORBX regions installed for proper enjoyment and use of RTMM scenery, not to mention the Tongass Fjords addon?

Hi Scanham,

The ORBX libraries are, in fact, stored at the path you have listed.  It does seem confusing to many people that ORBX loads the libraries for all ORBX scenery locations in an Australian folder but that is what they do.

That's just because Australia was where ORBX scenery first started.  Simply the "if it ain't broke" principle in action.

Everything seems to look/work fine and the scenery is amazing.

I am using the FSX Steam Edition and I got a few errors during installation so I was concerned. Glad to know that the FTX_AU folder is normal.  Like I said all looks good so far so I guess I won't worry.  Thanks guys!

OK once more for those that have missed it for the umpteeth time.

If you are using ORBX software and want to know what you have and what level it is patched to do this:

1. Run FTX Central
2. Click on Tools
3. Click on Reports
4. Click on FTX Products Installed

There it is a list of every FTX/ORBX product on your HD with Software version, patch level and date.  If it is in the list then it is installed.  Not in the list then you don't have it or screwed up the install!
