Black aprons and missing object textures
« on: November 27, 2014, 02:24:50 PM »
I have some anomalies at PFJ Canal Lodge and Three Sisters Small Cabin (Owikeno Lake), in particular. Possibly the same is true for other sceneries as well but I haven't checked all of them, e.g. Aiken Creek Cabin also has the same problem... I can see completely black rectangular pieces on aprons and black boat and chair textures (see: the attached images).

I'm using FSX (without Acceleration) with DX10 Switcher. The sceneries work ok. I have tested install status with RTMM scenery tester - all objects are there except the black-textured (second) building which is supported in P3D anyway...

I use no other libraries than RTMM. And here is a cut from my scenery.cfg in ascending order:

Code: [Select]
[Area.175]
Title=RTMM Locations
Layer=175
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Locations

[Area.176]
Title=RTMM Season Switcher Sceneries
Layer=176
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=Addon Scenery\RTMM_SS

[Area.177]
Title=RTMM CIRP
Layer=177
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\CIRP

[Area.178]
Title=RTMM Yes Bay Lodge Lower
Layer=178
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Yes_Bay_Lodge\Yes Bay Lodge Lower

[Area.179]
Title=RTMM Yes Bay Lodge Higher
Layer=179
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Yes_Bay_Lodge\Yes Bay Lodge Higher

[Area.180]
Title=RTMM AhzX Library
Layer=180
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Libraries\AhzX_LIB

[Area.181]
Title=RTMM CeyX Library
Layer=181
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Libraries\CeyX_LIB

[Area.182]
Title=RTMM EZ Scenery Library
Layer=182
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Libraries\EZ_Scenery_LIB

[Area.183]
Title=RTMM NAC Bases Library
Layer=183
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Libraries\NAC_Bases_LIB

[Area.184]
Title=RTMM Objects Library
Layer=184
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Libraries\RTMM_Objects_LIB

[Area.185]
Title=RTMM RWY12 Library
Layer=185
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Local=RTMM\Libraries\RWY12_LIB

So, what can cause this problem, any clue?  ???

Thank you!

Looks like your missing some of the RTMM required libraries.

For starters you NEED to have Acceleration.

Sorry, guys, if I got you wrong. So, what do I miss exactly - libraries or the Acceleration?
Btw, I didn't touch the RTMM libraries - just unzipped them straight from the zipped archives (reading the readmes carefully and having NO OzX or other libraries aboard but RTMM).

And I'm using FSX Deluxe but didn't see anything about the Acceleration in the scenery readmes...

Thanks!

Thanks, Spud! I see now...

Can I just add those FSX Acceleration libraries to my current installation of FSX Deluxe? Will it work this way? If yes, can you give me the file names?
If not, I'll probably have to wait until the next re(-incarnation)-installation of FSXA...

Hi Rustam,

Do you have Acceleration installed somewhere?  Otherwise, if you had the names,  what source would you go to get the missing libraries? They cannot just be pulled from an Acceleration installation disk.

As a side note, there is a history of people adding Acceleration after FSX has been installed ......there are a couple of special steps but I know it works because I did it.  Here is a link to an ORBX thread on missing VASI & PAPI lights at KBVS.  It turned out, way back then, that the lights only worked properly if you had Acceleration installed.   If you start reading the last post on Page 4 and continue you will see comments on installing Acceleration over the top of FSX.  Here is the link:

http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/37794-kvbs-papi-vasi/page-4?hl=vasi

Of course, if you try installing over the top, I would back up so that you could restore the prior state in case anything went wrong.

Thank you, Rod!!!

Never thought about installing Xpack over FSX Deluxe... I'll try your recommendation for sure and report back.
