A wierd thing happened on the way to Nina's Cove
« on: September 22, 2014, 09:29:16 AM »
Actually it was at the Cove. Teleported there to find out someone had pulled the plug and drained all the water out. Well actually from just south of there up to Sitka. Strange, why not the Pacific Ocean while they were at it.
Did one of those lost the water in FSX searches and after an hour or so took another look at that lost area. Was something familiar about it. Pulled up Google Earth and found that area was an exact duplicate of Tongass X. Another Google thingy and found FSaddon had several comments, and solutions, for the disappearing water. Seems like Tongass X was not all that fussy about staying on track with the 64 bit systems and will, every once in a while, pull the water plug. Holger had posted some instructions that said go into "All Programs"/TongassX and hit the repair button; if that doesn't work then delete and re-install.
I had to do the re-install. Got the water back.

That happens when the terrain.cfg file gets corrupted.  This can happen when another scenery makes an entry into the config file.  Take a look at the file in Notepad and  perhaps make yourself a copy of the file and store it away so if it happens again you can fix it without doing a Tongass install.
