Forum discussions are becoming confusing.
« on: July 18, 2014, 10:46:40 AM »
Been meaning to bring this up for a few days now and I guess it's time.
Because RTMM is on the cutting edge with our libraries being DX10 Preview Mode and P3D v2.2 compatible many of the members are moving to these newer modes/simulators.  Great for expansion and personal tastes but, because there can be different anomalies/errors in each mode/simulator we need to keep the various discussions/questions separate.  At least if your using either DX10 Preview Mode or P3D v2.2 that should be so stated at the beginning of the post.  Better still we have a forum, "DX10 and P3D Discussions" already, it would keep things less confusing to post all DX10/P3D comments, questions, problems, tips/tricks, and laudatory comments in that forum.  Or perhaps another forum or sub-forum dedicated to JUST content directed to those simulators/versions.
Right now, some of these posts are being intermingled with FSX forums and because the version is not always noted in the posts it is not clear if the advice, question, comments etc. apply to what sim/mode.
If it is P3D or DX10 related confine it to forums dedicated to that simulator.
As for scenery releases they of course are now universal and do not represent a conflict.  Only the aforementioned discussions are the possible problems.
I would hate to offer advice for a problem a member is having that applies to FSX only to discover (or NOT) that he is speaking of P3D causing confusion to the user and perhaps others with the same problem who then try the offered help only to find it is not germane to their problem.

EDIT:
Good example is the current discussion in the "Addon Scenery" forum on the Annette Island Fly-in scenery problems in P3D.  Although it is stated in the first post that it is a P3D problem there are posts that do make it clear and thus confusing.  If P3D/DX10 discussions are within a forum dedicated to those versions of RTMM it would prevent any confusion.
