RTMM Visitor Flow Activity
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:02:11 AM »
Attached is a chart showing the visitor flow (behavior) for people coming to RTMM. About 1/2 of the people hitting the site start with the "home" page, and leave. They've obviously found us, but are not interested in what we do. But the other half, about 70%, are returning visitors. And they mostly move to NOTAMs first and sceneries second.  This is from Google Analytics ... amazing information when you dig down into it. Our first most frequent country is the USA, followed by Germany.  Even Spain is showing up at 2%.

Most people (returning) are starting at "Home", then they go to NOTAMs, then to Scenery, and some then off to Object Libraries. This is a fairly logical flow. It does tell us that the NOTAMs page (which is the third highest hit page of the site) is VERY important to people. I had thought this would drop off as people use the News and Notams in the forum ... but that isn't happening. So I will have to continue "duplicating" the information in two places. (Not a problem).

Also, people (returning) have bookmarked "home" as their starting point. Some of the more experienced users are finally bookmarking Misty's Place as the "start" place for them (this is the best place to start) ... home is for the beginners, Misty's Place sends you everywhere else.

The new Here to There page is getting a lot of activity, almost 600 unique visitors...some 900 sessions. I'll post graphic here now and then so you too can see what is happening at the site.

You can click on the graph to enlarge it.

I wish I could, we don't have that kind of data on the forum, just the web side.  Darned interesting count number.

Doug,
Is there any way of tracking how many times each scenery - or any file, for that matter -  has been downloaded?

No, it won't do that for us.  I had hoped it would too.
