RTMM SmartCam Feature for Group1 Ketchikan USFS CabinsIn the updated version V1.09 of the USFS Cabins Group 1 (Ketchikan), the SmartCam feature has been applied to all (except Manzanita Cabin*) locations. When we have an individual location or a group "SmartCam Ready", the logo you see below will appear in the download buttons area.
What does it do? When you land on a lake, the cabin location is not always obvious as a cabin can be tucked back into the trees (as they are in real life). So finding the cabin can be a real game of hide and seek for you. The RTMM SmartCam feature solves this problem. When you activate the feature and press "S", the external camera will automatically point at the cabin. You will know the direction to head to find it.
On the web page, when you click on the SmartCam Logo, a pdf appears that explains its VERY SIMPLE use. To view/read the PDF for instructions, click
HERENOTAM: Many people have not tried the SmartCam feature and I suggest you look into it. For instance, if you are approaching your targeted landing airport, you can use the ICAO for that airport and use the SmartCam and the camera will point to the airport so you know its direction. You can also make it point to a runway so you can see the landing activity prior to getting into the pattern. It can be used to spot animals below, etc. Check out the YouTube videos on how to use this great FS2020 feature.*Manzanita Cabin - no "targets" show up for this location, so it was skipped. If someone can explain this, I'll fix it.
