FS2020 - Tongass Fjords Docks - Part A

Tongass Fjords Docks Part A is now ready for download at the Scenery Page under "T". This is a collection of 9 "docks" (little SPBs) in the Tongass Fjords area. These will give you nice jumping-off places to visit the cabins in the area. We have tried to duplicate the actual docks as best we can, but there were three where we had to use our imagination. All this is documented in the README that comes with it.

NOTAM: We do have one "lurking" problem. Our files/site QC inspector, Kevin has the new SU5 beta from ASOBO. He is reporting that we may see some problems that we will have to fix after the update in at least two locations, Cape Decision and Five Finger Light. If the update gives us a problem, we will correct it with an update as soon as we can.

FS2020 SU5 Update - repairs

Repairs were made on the following RTMM Scenery Packages:

1. SPBs for RTMM
2. Ketchikan Ranger District Cabins
3. Misty Fjords Ranger District Cabins
4. Craig Ranger District Cabins
5. Admiralty Ranger District Cabins
6. Tongass Fjords Docks "A"

So all of these should be deleted from your community folder and the new ones should be downloaded and added.

The update didn't seem to hurt us badly from what we can see so far.

Tongass Fjords Docks - Part B (By Doug Linn) - Finished and Uploaded

Tongass Fjords Docks Part B  is now completed and ready for download from the Scenery Page. This completes this package with both Part A and Part B now posted. These two packages give you MANY (18) new places to visit and use for "jumping off" places to head out to the cabins in the area. All have their own ICAO "TFxx" and you can search for them on the World Map. We hope you enjoy this latest addition. (A special thanks to Kevin and the "sandbox people" for helping me tweak the resulting package for QC).

Kevin Lewis - New RTMM Team Member

We are pleased to announce that Kevin Lewis will be joining the RTMM Team. You can see his "bio" on the "About" page for the site. He will be looking closely into the scenery placement quality control.  He was an invaluable help to me when I did the cabins and the docks, finding things I simply did not see. Fs2020 can be very confusing and Kevin is helping us understand the quirks and how to deal with them efficiently.

You can see the great work he does by downloading the new Snettisham 7AK2 airport that is on the Scenery Page under "S".  He even made some automated hangar doors. He does have magic we can surely use.

Snettisham Airport - 7AK2 - by Kevin Lewis

Snettisham Airport is a publicly owned, private-use aircraft facility near the Snettisham Hydroelectric Project in Snettisham, Alaska. It is located 30 miles (50km) southeast of the city of Juneau.  Kevin has added not only the details of the airport (many of which were missing from the FS2020 version) but has added some of his own magic to the location with some amazing automation.

You can find the new rendition of Snettisham Airport on the FS2020 Scenery page under "S".

FS2020 - Henrik's Global AI Ship Traffic MSFS V1 - Remove it!

RTMM has discovered that due to SU5 and the hotfix (1.18.14.0), Henrik's Global AI Ship Traffic MSFS V1 (GAIST_MSFS_V1) is no longer compatible with FS2020.  This mod now causes a hidden FS2020 CTD when a user exits from the sim and may also cause random CTDs.  Since we know that many of our users have this mod, we recommend that it be removed from your Community folder and deleted until Henrik might issue a new version.  In addition, don't forget to remove and delete the " GAIST_MSFS_V1_CVT_" folder that should also be in your community folder since it is spawned by GAIST_MSFS_V1 but not automatically removed by MSFS Addons Linker or any other mod management tool you might be using.

RTMM OBJECT LIBARY 0.5.0 - is ready for Download

Rod has spent a couple of hundred hours working on the objects so we can bring you the new Version 5 of the RTMM Object Library.  You can find it on the Scenery Page. Be sure to take out your old 0.4.0 Object Library, then load in the new one. There are some amazing things in there that we are already using. One of these is "hardened" platforms, meaning the helicopters can land on any of the "brown wooden" platforms we have. Also we have new helipads that we will be putting out with the new packages. Hat tip to Rod Jackson for another outstanding contribution!

Tongass Narrows Project - first part ready for download

The latest Tongass Narrows addition is now ready for download. This adds details for the City of Ketchikan near the cruise ship docks and the Thomas Basin Marina behind the cruise ships. We added the Air Alaska Heliport and have deleted the white "ghost images" in the water between the heliport and the Thomas Basin. We have added night lighting to the marina and cruise dock area.

This was actually initiated by Jan De Jong's "SPBs by Jan" package that puts Peninsula Pullout and the Ketchikan SPB in place in the narrows. Jan then did some amazing improvements along the waterfront adding his beautiful fishing boats and some of the fleet he has created.  You should download that and install it first, as all of the Tongass Narrows project is based upon it.

The "readme" for this project will keep you up to date with the latest additions, where they are, and what was added/changed.

RTMM FS2020 OBJECT LIBARY 0.5.1 - is ready for Download

Rod has informed me that it is necessary to do a maintenance update on the RTMM FS2020 Object Library to fix a corrupt object that we use all the time.  He has also added a couple of new colors for one of our regular boats.  You can find rtmm-objectlib-v0.5.1 on the Scenery Page. Be sure to take out your old version of the RTMM FS2020 Object Library (rtmm-objectlib-v0.5.0) and then load in the new one.  Thanks, Rod!

Juneau Ranger District Cabins - Ready for download

The Juneau Ranger District Cabins, 10 of them, are now ready for download as "USFS6" of the Cabin Project.  The famous "Denver Caboose" sitting on a spur beside the Skagway White Pass railroad, a tiny portion of which is included in this package, is one of the USFS cabins. A special thanks to Rod Jackson for getting us the caboose object and Kevin Lewis who did outstanding work to put in the railroad track and trestle. The readme on these will give you "known problems" with some of them and discuss a little about how they were created. We hope you enjoy them.

Pelican Sea Plane Base by QuelCertoLeo

Pelican Sea Plane base has now been added to RTMM's growing list of Alaska backcountry locations.  This is a beautiful and accurate rendition of the actual fishing village and seaplane base.  Here is the description of the area:

The town of Pelican is nestled deep in Lisianski Inlet, a narrow fjord carved by glaciers between the towering snow-capped mountains of Yakobi and Chichagof Islands. Built to be a fishing town, Pelican has plenty of fishing opportunities where visitors may catch King Salmon or Halibut.  The route by floatplane to Pelican is one of the most scenic in Southeast Alaska, passing over sheltered coves, alongside alpine slopes and finally descending into the Inlet with its rafts of otters and the occasional orca pod.

You will enjoy all of this and more by installing this great new mod by QuelCertoLeo.

USFS Admiralty Cabin Group USFS3 Updated

We found a problem with Pybus Bay, the airport was missing (no ICAO). We fixed that and also added an apron shoreline and some bramble bushes to make it all blend better. (Hat Tip Norm).

3 USFS Cabin Groups Ready for Download - 52 Cabin Locations!

Petersburg Ranger District, Thorne Bay Ranger District, and Wrangell Ranger District Cabin sets are now ready for download from the RTMM Scenery Page. This adds 52 cabin locations to your simming itinerary. Be sure to reload the data for Plan G and Little NavMap since all have an active ICAO, these will then show on your ever-expanding RTMM flight plan maps. Many thanks to our QC people and those that aided in several of these locations. We hope you enjoy the new additions. Please tell your friends about what RTMM is doing on your favorite forum pages. Return to Misty Moorings has Returned and is doing very well in FS2020!
