Be aware that there is no new functionality in Hollis Harbor v2.1.  Just a combined set of files and updated material to make sure all of the AI effects work in P3Dv3 and 4.

Klutina Outfitters - Changes made

Klutina Outfitters has been updated. The runway lights were down at the water and made for a confusing approach at night. There was a path from the hangar to the lodge running along the shoreline ... this was causing elevation problems in that area. The path was deleted and the errant objects were moved from that area. This should be re-downloaded.

Charlotte Lake Lodge - Now with ESwitcher Capability

Charlotte Lake Lodge was made compatible for the soon-to-be-released "E-Switcher". If you already have this location, you should re-download to get the new capabilities.

RTMM E-Switcher (Seasonal Season Switcher) - By Rob White and Rod Jackson

The new RTMM E-Switcher for changing scenery location seasons, specifically for the location, has been finished and is now available for download. You can find it in the Getting Started area under Step Table #6.  You can see Rod's full announcement of here.

Thanks to the beta team that spent a great deal of time on this. And a very special thanks to Rob White and Rod Jackson for this VERY IMPORTANT addition to RTMM.

BWEP - New and Improved Web Page - by Doug and Garry

The BWEP page has been almost completely redesigned and edited. The new "format" will help you find things more easily and it gives us the ability to maintain the folders and files better.

THERE IS A MAJOR CHANGE ... the BWEP airports (per request of some) has been split out from the pipeline segments.  You will have to change your sim's scenery library and addon scenery folders to compensate for this new arrangement. There is a README at the top of the page that tells you what you must do.  Basically, it is taking out the pipeline segments and replacing them with new segments and the new BWEP airport folder.  Be sure your DELETE, do not overwrite, as some names are the same and you will get double objects).

We have made several updates along the way. The BWEP airport package has new airports that have been included in it now for the northern unfinished two pipeline segments. BWEP objects have been placed at all of them.  Notice there are two BWEP airport packages, one for "default" and one for "PAYware PAVD".  Again follow the instructions on the page to choose which one to download.

Garry has re-edited the web page so it reads more smoothly and makes instructions more clear. (It also makes some of them even more interesting).

Be sure to "clear browsing data" on your browser so you won't be bringing up OLD information for the web page.

BWEP Changes and Additions

1. BWEP Airports has been split on the server so each (Package A and B) has its own maintenance folder. Also, these new downloads have the latest changes that have been made.

2. BWEP Southern Alaska Package A and B - These were also split on the server, now each with its own maintenance log. There have been changes in the packages, so be sure you have the latest version.

3. BWEP Dalton Highway - has some modifications in it near Prospect Creek, this is a new folder.

4. Gates of the Arctic - NEW ADDITION!!!  You can now download Brad's new Gates of the Arctic pipeline segment. This is an amazingly complex segment going over some rough terrain. Airports along the route (as with all segments) have been updated and even created. (Those are all in the new BWEP Airports Packages (A or B).  When you fly this section, you really begin to FEEL the magnitude of the Alaska Pipeline. Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Years ... extreme terrain and extreme weather conditions ... you begin to wonder how men could even begin to create and finish such a huge project.  (It also says something for the creator of this ... Brad Allen ... who meticulously placed EACH pipeline segment ... perfectly aligned, for miles and miles). In real life, it is difficult to grasp the size of the project, but even in the virtual life of BWEP, you will have the same awe for the completion of such a segment.  Great Job, Brad!

BWEP Updates -

These should be re-downloaded as changes have been made:

The Interior - pipe misalignment has been fixed... Cursed Hills airport was taken out of this pipeline segment and put into the BWEP airports (so they are now all together)
Dalton Highway - pipe misalignment has been fixed
Gates of the Arctic - pip misalignment has been fixed
BWEP Airports - season switcher has been added, approach lighting is now available on all airports for bad weather ... Cursed Hills is now part of the BWEP airport package, it was formerly in "The Interior" pipeline segment. Readme First texts were updated to reflect changes.

BWEP North Slope and BWEP Airports

The North Slope has been completed!!! Brad made it all the way from Valdez to Deadhorse and to Point McIntyre (beyond). So the pipeline is now complete.  The North Shore area around the northern waters is amazing, pumping stations, oil rigs and a new AK11 (Point McIntyre) airport, complete with special heliport for the oil rigs and special night lighting for year-around operations.

This has been a huge project and has literally taken a couple of years to complete. I'm sure there will be some small adjustments here and there, but "The North Slope" and the updated "BWEP Airports" packages are now ready for download.

The screenshot is of AK1I, the Northern Executive Headquarters for BWEP. In the background you can see the pumping stations, docking facilities and (look closely) MANY oil rigs out in the water. This shot was taken on 12/18/2019 - so the "lighting" is for Winter/Day! (Don't forget to "click" on the picture to enlarge it).

New Discussion Category - Prepar3D Version 5

Prepar3d has come out with a new V5 platform. We do not know what problems may be encountered with the new platform and RTMM. So we are giving those of you trying P3DV5 a place to talk about what you are seeing. You can, of course, put in what you LIKE as well as DISLIKE.  We are told there may be some problems with effects and wakes, etc. Hopefully, those of you who experience a problem like this can keep us posted.  At this point, I (Doug), have P3D V3 and P3D 4.5.  I need V3 so we can still manipulate the scenery with the old Instant Scenery 3 program (it doesn't work in P4). So I am personally hesitating to add the 3rd platform to my computer at the moment.

We would love to hear your comments on the new program so we can make decisions for the future.

RTMM WayPoints Program

The new RTMM WayPoints program is now available for download. It is a file you install in your sim exactly as you install a scenery location. It will give you WayPoints for EVERY location we have in RTMM, the scenery we have made, and the USFS cabins.

This utilizes Little NavMap to work best. There is a CSV file that you download that puts ALL of the WayPoints into Little NavMap with a cabin icon for each and an "R" number. If you put the R number into your GPS, you will be directed toward your chosen destination.

There are 630 WayPoionts in this program. Soon the RTMM Addon package will be ready that will let you download ALL of the RTMM Sceneries and libraries at once. The RTMM WayPoints program matches up with all the RTMM locations you will then have at your fingertips.

You can find the new RTMM WayPoints.zip program, the csv file, the readme and installation instructions on the RTMM Scenery Page under "RTMM WayPoints."

Chalanlar Lake PALR - by Thomas Menzel

A new addition for you in the "tricky" upper BWEP area. Thomas has given us Chandalar Lake (PALR). A new "RTMM enhanced" airstrip.  This is in the Base/Vector portion of BWEP. The airport has been made for both "NonV5" and "P3D V5" simulations.  We have updated the BWEP Locations Map (BWEP Page Airports) to include this new entry. The Waypoint is "PALR" and it is in the RTMM Database. Flying this area of Alaska will give you a true sense of the vastness of the area. The scenery location is now available under "C" on the RTMM Scenery Page.

Chandalar Lake is a lake in Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska, United States. It is located roughly 183 miles (295 km) north of Fairbanks near the Brooks Range. It is located near, although not in, the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge The lake is approximately 9.5 miles (15 km) in length. Average Weather at Chandalar Lake Airport Alaska, United States At Chandalar Lake Airport, the summers are cool and mostly cloudy and the winters are long, frigid, snowy, and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from -19°F to 64°F and is rarely below -40°F or above 73°F. Based on the tourism score, the best time of year to visit Chandalar Lake Airport for warm-weather activities is from late June to mid-July. Some nearby airports with instrument procedures:

    PACX - Coldfoot Airport (42 nm W)
PAVE - Venetie Airport (57 nm SE)
    PAWB - Beaver Airport (73 nm S)
PARC - Arctic Village Airport (75 nm NE)
PABT - Bettles Airport (79 nm SW)

BWEP Airports for Prepar3d V5 - Doug Linn and Thomas Menzel

When Prepar3D V5 was released, the Airports we had constructed outside the ORBX areas (north of SAK), were badly damaged.  Some were not usable at all. Thomas Menzel and Doug Linn spent more than a few hours to reconstruct those damaged airports so they would work in Prepar3D V5. That project is now completed and this new download folder is the result.

One change you will begin seeing, there are now "two" kinds of scenery locations, NonV5 and V5. By NonV5, we are saying all versions that are NOT Prepar3D V5. And V5 refers to Prepar3d V5 only. You will only see this "outside the ORBX scenery areas (in our case in BWEP north of SAK, that ends near the Paxson airport.

Delete any OLD versions of BWEP Airports you may have had, then instal either the NonV5 or the V5 version of BWEP Airports. Two Notams:

  • NOTAM 1: PAVD Payware on/off.  When you download either the V5 or NonV5 version, there is an option to change the PAVD scenery so it fits either the PAVD Default or the PAVD Payware. There is a notam in the file telling you how to do this.

Notam 2: BWEP AI Traffic and Fairbanks X do not work with the V5 version. You must uncheck BWEP_Traffic Planes and BWEP_Traffic Heli and Fairbanks X in your scenery library (if you have them installed).

There is an entry on the RTMM forum to discuss the BWEP V5 airports. The new downloads can be found on the BWEP page under AIRPORTS.

UPDATES for BWEP Airports for V5 and Fairbanks AI Floats ...

Both of these programs now have internal options for you to be able to use FAIRBANKS PROFESSIONAL by SimWings. (It is an $8 upgrade from Fairbanks X, no longer compatible with V5 ... delete Fairbanks X if you are using V5).

Look carefully inside each /scenery folder at the NOTAMS placed there to tell you how to prepare for Fairbanks Professional if you use it.

There was also some re-engineering at CXF (Coldfoot) that is included in this update.

NOTAM: When updating these ... DO NOT copy/paste/overwrite ... DELETE the old folder and put in the NEW one. Changes have been made on file names and you will get competing scenery files that will cause you problems. Always play it safe with updates ... delete the old, put in the new. We try to keep the folder names the same so you won't have to be adjusting your Scenery Library.
