Newly uploaded:

Chilanko River Sales and Service by Doug Linn PF62 (Added 06.15.2017)

Land Start: N52 6.6429 ... W124 8.9462 ... Mag: 96.5
Water Start: N52 6.4611 ... W124 8.8526 ... Mag: 319
VFR Location: 115 NM East of Bela Coola
Chilanko River Sales and Service has an ICAO designation of PF62. At last, a place to purchase your new float plane, and a full service location where you can fly to and get the undercarriage changed from pontoons to wheels. Need skis? We've got 'em. We even have storage for you pontoons, skis or wheel gear while you are what you have installed.

You can land at our dock with a float plane. We will pull your plane onto a trailer and haul it up to the workshop where we can change out the undercarriage, then you can use the asphalt strip to take off and fly home.

The facility is located parallel to the runway at Puntzi Mountain CYPU. There is a shorter runway to the south of and parallel to the main 04/22 runway at CYPU. So landing and taking off, you will land on 04R and 22L of the small facility.

MILVIZ Misty Beaver "New Colors" Repaints by Klaus Tröeppner

Klaus has repainted the MILVIZ beaver models in the new Misty Colors for all four models, Standard, Tundra, Ski and Amphibian/Floats.  You can find these on the ENHANCEMENTS page under REPAINTS, they are at the bottom of the repaint table. These are beautiful models. Klaus has also fixed up the cockpits for us. If you have the MILVIZ Beaver, this is a MUST download. These are beautiful repaints!

Clicking on the image at the site downloads a zip for all four models.

Thank you Klaus!!!

Scar Creek Airport CBA7 by Doug Linn (Added 06.21.2017)

Land Start: N51 10.8660 ... W125 2.1703 ... Mag: 288
Water Start: N51 10.8856 ... W125 1.6882 ... Mag: 67
Helo Start: N51 10.8537 ... W125 2.2019 ... Mag: any
VFR Location: 33 NM Southwest of Tsuniah Lake Lodge

Wikipedia: Scar Creek Airport (TC LID: CBA7) was a small general aviation airport located near Scar Creek, British Columbia, Canada. The airport was listed as abandoned in the 15 March 2007 Canada Flight Supplement.

However, with RTMM magic, Scar Creek has been re-activated. We have re-opened the lodge and cabin areas. There is a new float plane dock (with fuel) and a 24/7 shuttle bus that can take you from the little terminal area to the lodge over the bridge. Night lighting allows you to land safely at the airport during low light/night hours.

This location is equipped with the RTMM Season Switcher so you have different things going on for each season. You can read about the Season Switcher on RTMM's FAQ page (under "S").

Flying to an from Scar Creek demonstrates one of the most beautiful areas in British Columbia. There are two flight plans for this one. The first is from Westwood Inn. This is a lengthy but BEAUTIFUL flight, staying low and slow over water, an easy flight. The second is from Tsuniah Lake Lodge is through high mountain narrow valleys. The second is a little shorter, beautiful scenery, more dangerous (see map #2). You should put in RTMM's Westwood Inn (for Route 1) and RTMM's Tsuniah Lake Lodge (Route 2) locations and activate them to make these flight plans work for you.

Scar Creek Lodge and Chalanko River Sales and Service have updates:

Star Creek - got rid of the water anomaly near the cabin. Redesigned the cabin/pier area for all seasons.

Chalanko River - Got rid of the ridge at the pullout and moved a couple of minor items. the runway markings were "flashing", raised those and took care of that problem.

The new Updates are on the server ready for your download.

Misty's Place Update 10.08.2017

I've put in new NIGHT WATER approach lighting for night landings at Misty's Place. The attached screenshot shows you the configuration when you are "lined up." The runway is not parallel to Bostwick Inlet, it is canted to the left. This lighting helps you find the landing zone, and leads you toward the channel that goes to Misty's Place.

I also adjusted the smoke from Misty's Place Cabin and Bar buildings. The "log cabin" object we used for smoke, even at sea level, changes altitude when viewed in P3D V4. I used the "Snow Dogs" stove and this keeps the smoke near the roof of the building.

The new "Misty's Place" is uploaded on the Scenery Page.

IMPORTANT POST FOR Prepar3D V4+ Users

As Prepar3D moves from 32 to 64 bit platforms, some anomalies appear with RTMM scenery locations. This is a part of the change that we must face and embrace. For anyone using Prepar3d V4 or V4.1 (V4+)... you should read this thread carefully as these changes affect you. Those using FSX, P3D V2 or V3 are not affected.

New Win 10 Update released 1:26pm 11.14.2014
Update KB4048955

Good News:  This is the update we've been waiting for. Prepar3d V3.5 now starts up without a CTD, and is fly-able.

Bad News: There is a new error (Error creating Child Window ... attached).  Not sure what that error means yet. Another MAJOR problem is when you initiate IS3 (Instant Scenery 3), the whole thing crashes to desktop. I've got a trouble ticket in to Flight1 on this problem.

Bottom line ... we are not "back in business" yet with Scenery development and re-configuration for V4.1.  Sorry, we just have to wait until THEY get THEIR ducks in a row! I'll keep you posted.

Misty's Place Update 11.16.2017

Updated the lighting system for the water runway, now matches the runway. Got rid of the rocks at the north end of the runway, put a flatten there to eliminate the hill. Removed trees for the approach. Moved the beacon for better night navigation, landscaped around new beacon location, fixed detached smoke effects (only seen in P3D V4+), eliminated some flashing buoys. Added warning signs at lighthouse peninsula.  QC Checked for FSX, P3D 3 and P3D 4.

Misty Gustavus (Misty Air Taxi) by Doug Linn

Gustavus Airport is a perfect location for Misty Moorings Air Taxi Service that can handle
flights into Glacier Bay National Park. There is also a small Medical Center at this new
complex which can handle medical emergencies from the area.

We've added several small scenery locations to this package to give you places to visit in the Glacier Bay area. The Readme has all the details. There is also a TRIPs folder that gives you plans for these outlying locations:

• Adams Inlet Cabin
• Muir Inlet Campsite
• Carol Glacier Campsite
• Carol Glacier Cabin
• Margerie Glacier Cabin (ship viewing)
• John Hopkins Cabin
• The Sisters VOR Station

Special Downloads for Prepar3D V4+

We have discovered some objects and effect perform differently when used in P3D V4.0 and V4.1 (4+). The team has been making corrections for these and we are posting them on Step Table #9 on the re-designed "Getting Started/RTMM Installation" page. The update to this page is not yet finished, but you can download the new files from Step Table #9 on the updated page.

AI Aircraft for Tongass X - This file is the one people must have if they are using P3D V3 or V4. This eliminates the Crash to Desktop from some of the older AI objects that were used in Tongass X. We have included the file in Step Table #9 and it will also be in Step Table #5 for Tongass X installation for P3D V3 when that table is completed.

veh_Mega_yacht_sm - This is a boat object that was updated so it can be used in P3D V4+. V3 and FSX are not affected by this object and no download or change is necessary.

veh_Garbage_Barge_sm - This also is a boat object that was updated so it can be used in P3D V4. V3 and FSX are not affected by this object and no download or change is necessary.

MF_cabin_chimney.fx - This is an updated cabin smoke effect. In P3D V4+, excessive cabin smoke happens with some of the Tongass X cabins. When this effect replaces the one in your Effects folder, that problem, for V4 goes away. This effect also turns the smoke on and off at 64*F / 18*C. So smoke will not be seen in warm weather. This temperature effect works for P3D 3.4 and FSX also.

Updated "Fixed Detached Smoke" folders for P3D V4 Users - Installation Page, Step Table #10

We have been spending a great deal of time changing out the objects that show "detached smoke" in P3D V4.   This project will continue for some time and we'll be handling the updated information by these new methods. There are two ways for you to get theses new scenery folders to keep your P3D V4 installation up to date.

1. One-At-A-Time from the Scenery Page: As these are changed, the new folder can be downloaded for these scenery locations on the scenery page. You will see the "update date" is recent, you will see an asterisk with it, and at the bottom of that box is the "reason" for the update. All of these will discuss the detached smoke update.  So you can download these one at a time and only put in the ones you want. This also updates the Scenery page for new people coming to the site, whatever they download from the Scenery Page will be the latest if it is so marked.

2. On the Installation/Getting Started Page, Step Table #10. This is where we will be putting all new folders for P3D V4 update. This is also where all the "generic-site-wide" updated files will be kept. So you should check with this table often to look for new entries.  You will see a section there for "Updated Addon Scenery folders for P3D V4 (Smoke Problem Fixes)". As we do groups of folders, we will zip them and add them in this location. There is a "readme" in each that tells you what was changed. You download this zip, delete the folders you have now in your Scenery Library and add these new ones.

NOTAM: If you have FSX or P3D V3.4, you do not need to download these updated scenery folders. You will not see the "detached smoke problem" with those two platforms. But for those with P3D V4+ that want to keep up-to-date ... here are the two ways to accomplish that.

NOTAM2: On the Scenery Page, every scenery location that has been checked for this problem or has a new corrected file folder because of the problem, will have a P3D V4/Ready logo under the thumbnail. We are using these to keep track of the ones we have completed and which still need work. You will see us now coming down the page alphabetically.

PS Sorry about the inconvenience, but don't thank us for it, thank Microsoft.

Updated Waterfall (AI Boat/Wake problem)

There is a new download for Waterfall.  I didn't have the fishing boats configured correctly and I didn't have the wake effect needed for them. So I had boats, but no wakes. To make sure you have them and they are configured correctly, I put them into the download for Waterfall.  You will see an "update readme" that explains it. Basically you are overwriting a boat in the SimObjects/Boats folder and putting in the proper wake effect in your EFFECTs folder. The new folder is ready for download on the Scenery Page under W for Waterfall.
