New Scenery Locations - Lynn Canal and Chilkoot Inlet Added 02.09.2015) - By Brad Allen

Lynn Canal runs about 90 miles (140 km) from the inlets of the Chilkat River south to the Chatham Strait and into the Stephens Passage. At over 2,000 feet (610 m) in depth, Lynn Canal is the deepest fjord in North America and one of the deepest and longest in the world as well. The northern portion of the canal braids into the respective Chilkat, Chilkoot, and Taiya Inlets. Lynn Canal was explored by Joseph Whidbey in 1794 and named by George Vancouver for his birthplace, King's Lynn, Norfolk, England.

Chilkoot Inlet is an inlet located on the eastern side of the Chilkat Peninsula in Lynn Canal. Chilkoot Inlet is the terminus of the Chilkoot River and its watershed, and also home to Lutak, Alaska. It was first charted in 1794 by Joseph Whidbey, master of the HMS Discovery during George Vancouver's 1791-95 expedition.

This scenery enhancement adds several locations of interest along the two main waterways near Haines Alaska and covers area between Juneau and Skagway.

Starting points are listed on the Here2There page for all locations in this package. ORBX SAK is required.

Misty Moorings DoDoSim B206 by Steve Downing

This is a repaint for the DoDoSim B206 payware helicopter-addon for FSX.

This repaint represents the fictitious B206 N040MM of Return to Misty Moorings and includes Float, Low Skid, High Skid, and Utility variants.

There are 4 variants in this update.  This update was done using a freshly install DoDoSim B206 and depends on files added during that installation.  If you do not wish to use all 4, you MUST install the textures for all 4 anyway and then just do not put entries into the aircraft.cfg for the ones you do not wish to use.

Fix for Season Switcher Problems - by Rod Jackson

NOTAM: 99.9% of the time you will NOT need this. But if a "duplicate file" problem does show up when you are running the Season Switcher, this tool will help you fix it.  There is no need to download this unless you have a problem ... but it will SOLVE that problem if it ever happens! (I know, I had the problem, and it is solved!). You will find the Season Switcher Fix Tool on the FAQ page under "S" for "Season Switcher". Look toward the bottom of that article and you will find a zip button where you can download it.  (Thank you Rod, another great tool for RTMM!)

Yehiniko Lake and Airstrip Scenery created by Brad Allen

Here's a new one from Brad for the Tongass X area. Available under "Y" on the scenery page!

Yehiniko Lake is a lake located just 18.5 miles from Glenora, in the Kitimat-Stikine Regional District of British Columbia, Canada. There is a dirt airstrip that curves away uphill as you approach from the lake. Trying to land from the other approach direction is not advised here. Look for a small residence that calls this airstrip home. Hunting and fishing expeditions will use the small airstrip to drop off and pick up their clients in the warmer seasons. Fishing is good here and whether you’re fly fishing, baitcasting or spinning your chances of getting a bite here are very good. Located just north of Telegraph Creek, you'll find this to be a beautiful destination that has a nearby canyon set amongst a forest of trees that were burned down recently after a fire swept through the region.

Whistler Aerodrome and Vancouver Int'l Sea Plane Base - by Doug Linn

These are two separate packages. We will be using the Vancouver Int'l SPB for "starts" often. It was left out of ORBX PNW, so we "fixed it up" a little, gave it a fuel pump and a windsock and it's own ADEX file (so we made it an airport), and it can be used for starts for Plan-G planning and journeys. It also has a "dock" starting point.  You can download the Vancouver Int'l SPB from the Scenery Page under "V".

Whistler Mountain is a world-class ski resort area that people from all over the world come to enjoy. It is about 70 miles from Vancouver Int'l, where most people will fly into.  So if you want to experience what it would be like to getting to Whistler Mountain, you can fly to Vancouver Int'l in a commercial jet liner, then take a bus over to the Sea Plane Base there (CAM9), and fly in a float or amphibian to Whistler Aerodrome (CAE5) ... experiencing virtually the "real" trip. The scenery along the way is stunning.  There is a trip ticket (version 3), that guides you along the route and a flight-seeing flight-plan that allows you to use autopilot all the way to enjoy the scenery. (Notam: watch the altitude, you  start at 1200 feet but go to 3200 feet!).

The Whistler Aerodrome is also a "real" airport, CAE5, and we have positioned it exactly where it should be on Green Lake near the mountains. This location also has a "dock" starting point. Our rendition is better than the real one because there is a Brad's BBQ waiting for you when you arrive at the dock. This scenery works with the RTMM Season Switcher so pick your season before you fly. Also note that the lake freezes in winter ... you have to be careful not to run over the ice fishermen on the lake when landing in winter. Also you will need skis or Tundra and that will have to take of from Vancouver Int'l, NOT the SPB. (But you can still "hook up" with the flight plan easily to make the trip. You will find this scenery under "W" on the Scenery Page.

Bear Camp Research - Original Scenery by Marvin Carter,
Scenery information and conversion by Mike Broemme

Here is a demanding and beautiful little gem tucked back in the scenery above Pitt Lake in the PNW area. You can get to it from Vancouver SPB (new) if you like.  For the fixed wing flyers, this one is VERY tricky. A short runway and a twisting approach. (Lots of fun!!!). Mike Broemme has converted this scenery so it can be used, the original was by Marvin Carter.  Our thanks to both for this beautiful addition to RTMM!  You can find it under "B" on the Scenery Page.

Medical Facilities Project

We are experimenting with a new "Medical Facilities" project. The forum thread for this is HERE. The activity can be tracked at the thread and the results of the thread on a new Medical Facilities Table on the Here2There page at the bottom (HERE).

If you would like to participate, we are asking you to help us locate medical facilities already in the RTMM scenery areas. First, check the table to see if what you found is listed. If it is not listed, let us know. Also, if one SHOULD be there but is missing, we'll look into adding that as a construction project. You can add your suggestions to the thread.

Pacific Northwest Scenery Collection - Datapoints for Plan-G by Dieter Linde

Here are the Way Points for Plan-G. You can find them at "Dieter's Corner" on Misty's Place. Simply click on the link there, then import this new way point set into Plan G.  "Dieter's Corner" now has it's own table on Misty's Place and its own button at the bottom of the buttons at the top of Misty's Place. This has become a very important part of our operation and needs a special place. All our thanks to Dieter for these fine contributions that all of us use every day!

Pacific Northwest Scenery Collection by Brad Allen - Update!

We've done some minor updates to Brad's PNW Scenery Collection. Fuel Triggers were added to the fuel docks, a tree on a landing strip was cut down and is now stacked for firewood. All of the starting (mooring) points have been added to the Here2There starting points table. There are short "low and slow" flight plans for all but one of the locations which will take you deep into the scenery. The map for Mt. Kinch Ice Station has been modified. You need Owikeeno Lake to see Mt. Kinch. So the route to it now flies out of PF50, Pacific Gateway.

We are "featuring" this scenery package on the Here2There page. If you are NEW to RTMM, this is an excellent starting package. You get many locations, they are all beautifully located and you will "feel there' when you fly the plans to the locations.

The Westwood Inn - Updated Version by Urs Burkhardt

Here is an updated version of the beautiful Westwood Inn.  If you have previously installed this scenery, be sure to DELETE THE OLD SCENERY FIRST. Then put in this new version.  This is a difficult little airport well-worth the difficulty of the landing!  When you get there, stop and explore .. the detail work that has been done makes this a real work of art.  Our thanks to Urs for sharing this scenery with us.  You will find it under "W" on the Scenery Page.
