Dora Bay Log Transfer Facility - Updated

A barge that was under the two "floating" platforms has disappeared in our scenery conversions. A new structure was put beneath these two floating platforms.

Hollis Harbor Update Patch by Rod Jackson

This is a patch to update Hollis Harbor v1.0 to v1.1.  You need to have already installed Hollis Harbor v1.0 to use this patch. This patch does the following things at Hollis:

1. Replaces buildings at the Ferrry Landing in Hollis and the Wolf Creek Boathouse area which could be seen in FSX but not in P3Dv2

2. Replaces the ice in Hollis Harbor with ice that eliminates the problem that some users have had with trees in the water when the CVX_Hollis_Harbor_Ice.bgl was active.  For those of you who had added a .off to the ice file, just delete that file before copying this patch.  If you still don't wan't the ice to show up, you can still add an .off to the end of the reivsed CVX_Hollis_Harbor_Ice.bgl.

3. Corrects a file with missing objects that is only used by those who have ORBX PAKT installed.  Some of you will already have this correction.

4. Adds a beacon on top of the hill to the North of Hollis Island.  The frequency is 621.  The ID is HHB. The morse code is ....  ....  _ ...

5. Adds a Fuel Trigger at the Eagle Air Dock.

6. Provides an updated v1.1 User Guide that reflects the above changes.

7. Adds a windsock that is only erected temporarily each summer at the Hollis (summer only) airfield.

8. Makes a few corrections to objects displayed during Summer and Spring season.

Follow the instructions in the README carefully ... the update steps are clearly stated. Thank you Rod for this fine update to an already excellent Scenery Area!

This is now available under "H" for Hollis Harbor on the Scenery Page.

Thank you to Raven for the object, thank you to "Handie" for spotting it for us.

New Fuel Pump at Misty's Lighthouse - By Doug Linn

A minor change at Misty's Place. We didn't have a fuel pump for float planes, you had to have an amphibian or wheeled aircraft to get fuel up by the "bar". Now there is s fuel pump out on the dock at the lighthouse, so it is a quick place to get a "splash" and go on your way.

UPDATE- New "Return to Misty Moorings.kmz" file for Google Earth - by Vüqar Quliyev

Here is an updated kmz files that has even more details for the RTMM areas, "a few small changes - added a few locations at Hang'em High Resorts, and NDB identifiers and frequencies, as published on Airport Facilities Tables".  You can find it on the HereToThere page ... look in the top index.  You simply click on the file to open it in Google Earth. There is a readme with it that will help guide you through the amazing detail of this piece of work from Vüqar. You can find it HERE. Take to time to get "into" this work, this is the most detailed information there is on RTMM. Our thanks to Vüqar for this fine addition and update.

RTMM Flight Plans Updated

There was a problem with the "#" flight plan from Wilson River Lodge to Misty's Place ... it would crash. That is now fixed.  "HOW TO" is in the readme ... but if you are REPLACING these files, do it SAFELY ... go to the sim's documents folder and open the flight plans.  DELETE all plans starting with # or =.  Then paste what you download into that folder, adding the new # and = files.  (If you don't do this, and you just overwrite, you will retain the errors).

The plans are found on the Here2There Page under RTMM Flight Plans.

McCarthy 15Z Fuel Box and Trigger Added

A request was made for having fuel at McCarthy 15Z which will supply the "Last Resort" area of SAK. The new trigger is placed by the maintenance building where work is being done on an aircraft.  To get this update, re-download The Last Resort.  Note on the FAQ Airport Facilities Table, table 3, you will see the McCarthy Entry there. The right hand column tells you what must be re-downloaded to get the update. This was exactly the kinds of suggestions we are looking for. It is a long way back to Anchorage for fuel!

Barnstormers by Xavier Carre' and Chris Losh

This is a redone and now re-introduced scenery location done by Xavier Carre' with some additional scenery locations by Chris Losh. We have combined these into a single rendering, so read the instructions carefully.

This is Bush Flying at its BEST! A beautiful high plateau area in British Columbia, deceivingly "simple" for navigating, and 100% capable of getting you completely LOST!

Combined, the package has over 30 locations with several new small airports. The attention to detail is excellent. Carefully go through the Readme.pdf that is enclosed in the download and you will have a good preview of what enjoyment you are going to have with this re-done, beautiful package. You can find it on the Scenery Page under "B".

NOTAM: Dieter's New Barnstormrs cvs file is ready at Dieter's Corner at Misty's Place.

Gilbert Bay Airfield and SPB - By Brad Allen and Xavier Carre'

This is a "Version 2" of the original Gilbert Bay scenery set. This is probably one of the most 'realistic' locations we've created. Using the season changer, the landscaping and object placements gives you a very "be there" feeling.

  • Today, a new spirit of adventure leads the Misty Moorings aviation services to start operating flights in this remote area of Alaska. As they planned new flights and adventures, they found this old airfield and it was ideal for a new base, close to their area of flights in the Glacier Bay and Juneau area. All the old buildings were repaired and some new ones were built. A DC-3 is used out of this airfield during the spring and summer months to bring winter supplies in. A full time staff is on hand all year to maintain the airplane service business and a small bar called "The Misty Bar" is located here to cater to the bush pilots who stop by.

You can find it under "G" on the Scenery Page.
The  RTMM TFxx NDBs.zip file has been updated to add Gilbert Bay. Remember, this file adds NDBs to all TFxx airports. Some people do not want this, so only add this if you want NDBs at all TFxx Airports.

Halibut Cove Updated to V1.1!

Rod Jackson has released a small patch to update Halibut Cove V1.0 to V1.1 which is now available in the RTMM Scenery Library at the end of the Halibut Cove V1.0 section.  This patch should be downloaded by everybody as it removes an undefined object at Seldovia, moves the Jonas Brothers Transport location at PAEN and now supports the payware versions of PAEN and PAHO as well as the standard PAEN and PAHO airports that come with ORBX SAK.

It is available on the Scenery Page, a "zip button" below the regular scenery buttons.

PAHO Payware (Homer) Fuel Trigger Fix - minor change

For those interested in better fuel management ... There are 3 fuel triggers at the new payware PAHO. One is under a static aircraft and so is not accessible, and the other two are against a building wall and you must nearly push the nose of the plane into the wall to get fuel. With this tiny fix, I moved the fuel trigger near the terminal over toward the fuel truck to the right, and gave it a much larger "footprint". I made larger footprints for the other two fuel triggers across the airport in the hanger area and now these are far more accessible. You can find the fix in TABLE 3 of the Airports Facilities Area at the top of the FAQ page. Look for PAHO in Table 3. Read the instructions carefully, it is an easy fix. If the author updates PAHO for the fuel triggers, we'll pull this one and link to any update they have there.
