I'm going to be a little off topic here but it is to look closer at P3D which may suddenly come our way in PFJ. I got Northern California and put it into P3Dv2. Frankly, it is "pretty" but for my machine, unstable as hell. I cannot make a complete 20 minute flight without it crashing ... like a whiteout, then the "fatal error" flag. I've tried Razor, Cleanmem and did a lot of tweaking. It can be running along at 30 frames per minute ... out over "rural areas" and crash ... not a hint it was coming. The admin I talked to over at ORBX said he thinks they "Lockheed Martin" have a memory leak on the vegetation or something. Whatever is causing it makes it NO FUN for me. I went back and flew the same areas in FSX/DX10 and did just fine for over an hour, not a hint of a problem.
Bottom line. I don't think they are "quite ready" for prime time. I'm just glad they "tried it" on Northern California and not on our area. I think they are learning some things ... I'd rather not be the beta!
Here's what I'm running:
Dell Studio XP 8100 X64
Windows 7 Intel(R) Core(TM i7 CPU 8.70@2.93 GHz
Installed Mem 8.00 Avail Mem 12.3 GB
Nvidia GTX570 8GB
PFJ, PNW, SAK, NCA
FSX and P3DV2And Dex tells me I am clocked "low" for the P3DV2 requirement. Just wanted folks to "know" the status. And also let them know we are looking ahead at P3D in anticipation of it coming our direction next. But if you haven't got it yet, you aren't (yet) missing anything spectacular.
