Beaver Sound Instructions...HELP!!!
« on: November 24, 2013, 04:17:42 AM »
I just downloaded the new aerosoft beaver sounds found here in the  enhancements section, but the readme file will not display correct.  It´s all in code, how can I fix this. I have tried using all the programs I have on my PC to open it.  :(

Ahhh man, all I did was to copy over the sound folder, so easy it was.  Nice sounds as well.  :)

Robert, It's an Adobe PDF file. If you have Adobe Acrobat installed, it should display fine. Please post back if it doesn't open properly for you. (I wrote the documentation in MS Word and saved them as a PDF.)

Hopefully you backed up your default sounds first! The instructions stress this point.

Question: will these work for the Default FXS Beaver?

The engine and interior sounds should work. See the PDF doc. I'm working on a default Beaver sound pack that will be similar, but the default Beaver sound system isn't designed like the Aerosoft system and isn't as inclusive in various areas. (For instance, the default Beaver doesn't implement any switch on/off sounds like the Beaver X does and I'm not smart enough to figure out how to program them to work.)

I never had the honor of hearing a DH beaver in real life and the new beaver sound pack could be the real deal but, after flying the aerosoft beaver for many years I am use to it. I well not give up  on the new sound pack though.  Concerning the default Beaver I really like the VC better than the aerosofts would be cool if it could be merged.

Yes it they do work but as ualani says there are some things that do not.  But when you have that big radial running I'll guarantee you can't hear a switch click anyway.  I installed the sounds in the default without any problems and at least it sounds like a round engine now.  Of course you need to buy a couple of cases of oil right away.  ::)

The copilot's job is to add oil at regular intervals during flight. That must be why the oil reservoir neck is in the cockpit. But boy does that floor get slippery from spilling oil on a turbulent flight when topping off!
