Testing posting screen shots via Photobucket
« on: July 29, 2013, 09:32:48 PM »
Been trying to figure out the "new and improved" Photobucket (yeah, right and pigs fly too)
Here are some screenshots of the Grand Canyon with FTX Global and this is the OZx version of the canyon with special MESH by Holger.

Thanks to Jeff's advice I finally got things working hopefully

Yay, looks good Spud.  8)  The FTX Global won't have an effect on it, in areas that are "photoreal". (I hope not, anyway.)  I have other photoreal scenery areas as well, like Hawaii, Tucson, Mexico, and Utah.  Hopefully, it shows as photo and has the lighting and trees.  I haven't checked yet.  That would be cool. How did the Grand Canyon area look to you with the FTXG on, Spud?

Now I gotta go look for myself.  Booting up FSX now. Heading to the Grand Canyon.

Jeff,
the shots were taken with Global turned on in Hybrid mode.  Although the scenery is not in an ORBX area the textures are from Global as far as I know.  I was trying to see if the canyon was the 'baby puke green' that all the fuss was about.  As you can see the colors are vivid and certainly not 'green'.

Yep, I am flying around the area now.  It looks good to me.  My 3rd party trees are showing, and the photo textures are too.  The "grasslands" outside the forested area looked a little strange to me, but as the scenery finished loading it came into focus.  All is FTX (except the OzX Grand Canyon, of course ) and it is good.  (so far ;D ).

Spud,

Do you have the OZx Grand Canyon Scenery installed?

Brad,
yes the screen shots are with OZx Grand Canyon with Holger's GC mesh installed.  The shots were made with that scenery and FTX Central set to Global Hybrid mode.

Spud, in that case you will only see the OZx photoreal scenery and none of the FTXG until you fly out of the photoreal area

Hey Spud, have you had any problems with Photobucket recently? I've used it for years to upload my sim pics but lately, it won't complete the upload process. These are small files (jpgs) but it just stalls on me during the uploading. :-X

How's it been working for you?

Actually have not tried to upload anything for about 5 or 6 days at least and didn't have any problems at that time.

With Photobucket, an upgrade is always necessary needed!!   :o  I'm afraid to re-install my "photobucket backup" desktop app. a fourth time.  It will upload ALL of my pictures again, making copies of them if they already exist.  I've already done this three times and my account is getting BLOATED.  I have to go in and manually delete each copy of the original upload.  I have over 10,000 pictures, so it's a chore.  :'(

Oh, that reminds me.  I turned off the Grand Canyon addon and flew around the area for a bit.  The KGCN addon is a must have, if you're gonna check out the canyon.  It is free, by the way.

The whole scenery package with mesh is available for free at:
