Rwy 12 link error
« on: July 21, 2013, 02:12:07 PM »
Just noticed that the info text for the Rwy 12 link is incorrect because it tells you to search for ez_1.zip and not the rwy12_1.zip correct file name.  Sorry for making extra work Doug.  :-X

There are 4 files over there that are rwy_12 ... do they download all of them?  I'll put that in the text.
RW12L112.ZIP, RW12L212.ZIP, RW12L312.ZIP, RW12PG12.ZIP.

The one we use is rwy12_1.zip dated 04-18-2010 which is the latest and compiled by David Grindele the same guy who did the ez_1.zip file we use which is also dated 04-18-2010

I checked my computer for my RWY12 zip files.

I have RWY12 in 3 parts, plus another one for the Rwy12 "Program". That's four, as Doug has found.  So yes, The Runway 12 Program has four files.  I also have the rwy12_1.zip file, Spud is talking about.

The rwy12_1.zip (fifth zipfile) file is an Object Library collection FOR the Runway 12 Program above, just like the EZ_1.zip file is for the EZ Scenery placement program.   ;)

OK, check the object library page now for Rwy 12 ... see if it is ok for everyone.

Ok, . . . so they log in to flighsim.com and do a search for ez_1.zip and rwy12_1.zip.  No need to get the other four files, unless you want to place objects with it. (don't go there ;) )

As long as they're a member, and logged in, it's great.

I am, and it's no problem for me.  That's another one that I never "log out" of.  Whenever I click on the link for flightsim.com it welcomes me to "First Class".  Cool.   8)

Er, . . . edit!  The links DON'T produce a means to the end.  One takes me to the "Home" page, and the other says file not found. (uh, it occurs to me that you can navigate via the menu bar to the "search" page of the site from that "Home" page.) Duh!  :-[  Anyways . . .  :P

This is what is on my search page address bar-

I can see what happens with those that do not read the cautionary note for the link to Flightsim.com telling them to be logged in FIRST.
I can click on the link to the rwy12_1.zip and it takes me to the flightsim home page.  I am not logged into the site I click on File Library in the menu bar at the top of the page then pick Search Files option and the search page pops up.  Type in rwy12_1.zip in the File Name box and the correct file pops up. (nothing else)  I click on 'Download' and NOW is when it tells me to log in first.  I can see why it could frustrate newbies to that site to get that far only to have to stop and join the site if they are not members etc.  Nothing else to say but my old mantra of RTFM!
Anyhow the link is working fine and the filename to search for is correct.  If the user is logged in to Flightsim.com FIRST then things works correctly.
