Air Hauler-Misty Charters
« on: April 20, 2013, 04:30:39 AM »
I decided to check out the "Air Hauler" program, and I like it.  I've been taking pictures along the way, as I deliver stuff for my company, "Misty Charters".  The pictures are collected and stored on photobucket, and I'll add to it from time to time as I go.  I just bought my second plane, a DeHavilland Beaver.  Just like the first one.  Now I have a "fleet".   8)

Ok.  It would be interesting to hear your helicopter side of it.

This slideshow is growing every time I fly in Air Hauler.  It is up to 223 pics so far!  :o  There would have been more, but I was checking out DX10 preview mode and all 27 of those pics turned out black.  :'(

I purchased "Opus for FSX", the weather generation program.  So I have been checking that out as well.  8)

It sure can crank out a lot of weather.  It was almost overwhelming.  Then I turned down my cloud settings a bit and it is better now.  There are ZERO visibility episodes, and extreme disorientation soon follows.  Pretty scary in a fjord!  I like it!  ;D

Do you think Opus is better than either Rex or Active Sky?

It is "stunning" to behold.  The amount of clouds and variety.  The quality of the fog and mist is very good.  Each of the programs have elements that make them stand out, and I can't really warm up to the Opus GUI.  But I found some menu options in FSX for Opus, so at least I can turn it on (or off).  I haven't really used ASE much since I bought it.  It's probably Ok, but I have alot of other things going on already in my "virtual life".

I found myself turning Opus off while I fly Air Hauler, because it's a waste during time compression flights.  The clouds hog resources, and obscure my vision.  But when I flightsee low and slow it is beautiful eye candy.

What was the question??  Opus is certainly easier to use than the other two.  ???
