Totam Bright Operations Center
« on: February 21, 2013, 05:33:13 PM »
I installed your upgrade for Totam Bright today.I did download the correct upgrade to use, because I do have the ORBX PAKT SP1 addon.

Before I installed the upgrade.I deleted my previous version of Totam Bright v1.0.It does show up,when I go to it.When I go up the ramp and taxi up onto the deck. There I'm a little bit sunk into the deck in front of the hanger.Maybe I have an elevation issue, but not sure?.
I did install the optional VFR flight from PAKT to Totam Bright Lodge. When I select the flight it doesn't load up?.The other flight from Misty's Place to totam lodge does load up.

I'm curious what I shold be seeing, when I'm at the lodge?.When I go to the scenery page to download the upgrade.I clicked on the picture there. What I'm seeing is different, than what the picture is showing?.

Maybe I shouldn't have deleted my previous version. The upgrade may have been an extention of version v1.0?.

Oops.I may have put my question in the wrong topic.

Hello George,
Can you post some pics of exactly what you're seeing?

I just installed Totem Bight Operations Center onto my system, after reading your post.  I disabled the previous versions and installed this one "as-is" from the zipfile.  I added it to my scenery library.  It's not dependent on the previous versions at all.  Here's some pics I snapped.

Jeff.

I down loaded the zip that say's in red.Use this one if you have PAKT SP1,and I do have the ORBX PAKT SP1 installed. When I looked at the contents in this one.The thumb nail pic, shows something else.Maybe theres two different ones, such as Totam Bright Lodge and Totam Bright Operations Center?.

In the meantime.I downloaded the other totam bright zip.Now I see what I should be seeing. The only thing I see is.The house to the right, that sits by itself. There is a car, kind of behind the house. The car is sitting on the water.Otherwise the addon is fine etc.

I'll admit I don't fly the flight plans much, just crank r' up and go.  However I looked at the Totem Bight download again regarding the flight plan and FWIW I can not get it to load into my sim.  First thing is it says Totem Bay Lodge which is incorrect should be Operations Center.  I even re-copied it from the down load to my flight plan folder (FSX default location) and there is something wrong with the flight plan as it simi-loads but displays unknown for the starting position and nothing for the destination.
All the above being said the location should be Totem Bight Operations Center and that should be reflected on the flight plan.  With Dieter's CVS files Plan G shows it across from Murphy's Pullout with that name too.
I do not have FTX PAKT so can not comment on that particular download.

I believe that the old flight plan does not work due to it being copied from the old scenery file and not made over with the new location as the destination.  FWIW not being Plan G literate I have kludged together a flight plan that will at least load in the sim and move your A/C to the starting point (PAKT).  Because Doug is on vacation this week I'm going to attach that plan to this post.  Try it and see if it will direct you to Totem Bight Operations Center.  The old plan said ..... Lodge which is incorrect.

Boy, it seems to me that if a person were to start at Murphy's Pullout instead of PAKT, they'd already be at Totem Bight before they even take off.  Just a short taxi to the North, eh?  :o  Why do we need a 2 mile long flightplan?  ???

My question also is.

When looking at the scenery down load page of Totam Bright, sceen in my screenshot. Is Totam Bright Lodge and Totam Bright Operations Center two different scenerys,or both rolled into one?.

If Jeff didn't deleted the previous version.Than I'd think I'm dealing with two different Totam Bright, side by side locations etc.

I'll probably reinstall the previous version, and see what happens.I'll get some shots of that one,and post them etc.

FYI,
The original edition of Totem Bight That I did was for default PFJ and not the SP1 edition. I believe Doug also did the latest version for default PAKT and not SP1.

When I deleted my previous version of Totam Bright Operation Center.I didn't save it.Like Jeff mentioned. He didn't delete the previous version of Totam Bright Operations Center, before he installed the latest version, seen in my screenshot above.

I want to get the previous version back,if I can find it,and have a look at what was there.

In the screenshot above. The two download zips to choose from are different Totam Bright Operations Centers scenery's.One file is bigger than the other.

Some how I want to install both addons of Totam Bright.

I didn't delete anything.  I just unchecked it from my scenery library.

Only use one version of the scenery location at a time.  Don't combine any of them.

I am not using the Orbx SP1 PAKT airport, so I can't comment on that.  But the regular version works for me.

( . . . and it's not "Totam Bright", it's "Totem Bight"!) ;)

You can install both but don't try to make both active at the same time in FSX. Also, I don't even see the version I did for RTMM, it's been replaced by Doug's newer version, so not sure why that happened.

:o . . . It occurs to me that Doug doesn't use the Orbx PAKT SP1 airport either.  So how's he gonna make a version for it?  ???  (even though there is that button for the SP1 version there.)  That's the question.  :o

I just swapped out my version for the one Grayrider is trying to work with, to see what shows up and where.  I tried to drive up the ramp.  The deck and ramp aren't hardened, I guess.  :-[

Does this look like what you've got, GrayRider?  ???

The new version of Totem Bight Operation Center, as stated, is only for PFJ default.
The "zip" at the bottom of the page, which is for those who have Orbx PAKT SP1, is the old "zip" which dates from January 2012.
I have Orbx PAKT SP1 and I had already installed the scene Totem Bight Operation Center which is in this "zip".
There is nothing new to the owners of Orbx PAKT SP1 ;)

Yes Jeff. This is the one I previously had,and deleted it.In my screenshot. The zip that says in red.Use this one if you have PAKT SP1.The PAKT SP1 download is the one seen in your screenshot.

The other zip download is the the newest one of Totem Bright seen in your other previous upgraded screenshots of Totem Bright Operation Center.I can't really use this one, because I have the ORBX PAKT SP1 installed.

Why not, exactly?  Is the shoreline different?  Does it look funny with the new one installed?  What makes it "unusable"?   ???
